The Extreme John blog has changed a lot over the last twelve months, one of the things that changed the most would have to be my rants. At one point in time all I really posted on this blog was rant posts and posts with pictures in it, now this blog features all kinds of crap from blogging tips to business tips and information about WordPress plugins and Twitter. Even with all of the changes that went on here during 2009 the rants were still a big part of this site, for the first time ever I even featured a couple of Guest Posts that were rants and they were bangers.
Another thing that changed in 2009 from the previous year here on Extreme John.com was the response to the rants that get posted here, a few companies have made good on things they never should have done wrong based on information that was posted here. Not every rant ended with a great big cherry on top and everyone satisfied in the end, there were rant posts this year that had employees from large companies going bananas in the comments…. instead of trying to actually resolve the problem. Hell we have even had employees of large companies pose as customers of those companies in an effort to justify their world class shitty service, now let’s take a look back at what I feel were the 10 best rants of 2009 on my blog.
Best Rants of 2009
1. Yellowbook Customer Service Fail
This rant is pretty hysterical when you read through the comments and see what path a Yellowbook employee took to resolve this matter, let’s just say it’s not the typical way you would go about solving customer service issues. Update on this rant is that once our contract ended with Yellowbook so did the likelihood that we would ever do business with them again in the future, actually better yet… We will not be doing business with them in the future.
2. Progress Energy Price and Service FAIL
Anyone that has Progress Energy as their electricity service provider will tell you that Progress Energy is one of the worst when it comes to customer service, and with the rate hikes they seem to want to push for every few months it’s also safe to say that customers don’t enjoy that either. Here’s my views on Progress Energy.
3. Marc Makoni Homes Quality and Service FAIL
This is a rant that still pisses me off to this day, I would love to stand in front of the owner of Marc Makoni Homes or whoever runs the show and seriously say, “Go fuck yourself and thanks for the shitty service on this “Premium Home”.”
4. Ash Wholesale Since You Wouldn’t Listen
I guess it’s safe to say that I wasn’t that I wasn’t the only one to have terrible service from Ash Wholesale, they are no longer in business.
5. Universal Remote MX-980 Rant
Even though one of the remote batteries has been replaced it wasn’t done on Universal Remotes part, the bad battery was replaced by Chip of Entertainment Pro’s. I still have another Universal remote battery that does the same thing, sooner or later I guess I will have to replace this one on my own. Thanks again Big T (see below) ya asshole.
6. When I Die from Skin Cancer
Here is my take on all of the crazy new laws being proposed in regards to indoor tanning and some of the crazy claims that certain news agencies make, my approach seems much more simplified.
7. Table Turd
While attempting to go out to dinner at one of my favorite places to eat in Oldsmar Florida with my family, we encountered this turd.
8. Big T Your Still a Jackass
Ahhh Big T, one of my all time favorites to rant about because Big T makes it so easy. One MASSIVE bold face bullshit liar and his amazing ability to try and screw over every single customer and associate he deals with, add in his lovely bullshiting sidekick and you have the biggest asshole business owners I have ever met. Hopefully you won’t have the same misfortune.
9. Watering Your Lawn is Worse Than Careless Driving
As if Tiger Woods hasn’t had enough attention over the last few weeks I had to throw my issue into the mix which certainly brought him even more press, ok that’s not true. Take a look in here to see how Pinellas County Utilities hooks up first time offenders when it comes to watering restrictions, then compare it to the fine that Tiger Woods received for driving over a fire hydrant into an innocent tree.
10. The Dirtbags Among Us
This is hardly one of the best rants that have been written here, but it is an important one because it deals with internet theft and copyright infringement.

I’ve only read about no. 9 and no. 10 and that means, you have less rants on the last quarter of 2009 than the previous quarters. I think thats good news.

@MichaelR, I have toned it down on the rants, a lot of it probably has to do with the fact that I am too damn busy to write about whatever it was that pissed me off at the time. Haha.

Dirtbag Amongst us was a really good post and it shows hoe easily (or not) someone can just steal images edit them and reuse them for there own use. Luckily the dumb butt wasn’t smart enough to host the image on his own server. LOL:)

@sangalicious1, once 2010 comes he won’t even exist to me anymore. Nothing more than a bad memory, he doesn’t deserve any thoughts in my head. Let’s just say he goes on a short list of losers I will cut the cord with thinking about or even remembering their existence when the year changes.
