10 Most Hated MMA Fighters

I constantly find myself in conversations discussing which UFC fighters I like vs which UFC fighters some of my friends like, those conversations always turn into what UFC or MMA fighters we also can’t stand. Hate is such a nasty word.

Recently in a conversation with James the blogger behind MMA Punk.com he mentioned that he had just posted one of his first “Top 10″ type posts with a post titled “Top 10 Most Hated MMA Fighters“. Being the opinionated bastard that I am I just had to run over to MMA Punk and check out the post and see how James’s most hated MMA fighters line up with the fighters I dislike the most in mixed martial arts.

I’m sure that a post like this can trigger a fire storm of comments by passionate MMA fans that are dedicated to their fighters, I can’t blame everyone for their passion because I have the same exact passion about the MMA fighters I like. 10 Most Hated MMA Fighters

10. Nate Diaz

Not exactly as annoying as his older brother this Diaz brother has the same mouth running ability and slap punching ability that his brother has, I also can’t stand his in fight celebrations before choking out an opponent (flexing, shit like that). Watching Melvin Goulard punch Nate Diaz around the ring was one of the most enjoyable things I’ve seen in recent MMA fights, that was until he fell victim to acting like an idiot and got choked out.

9. Nick Diaz

As much as Nick Diaz has really began to show that he can dominate people and get in their heads mentally I still just want to see someone brawl with him, without falling into his mental games. I like MMA better than Boxing and one of the main reasons is because I enjoy real punches without pillows covering a fighters hands, Nick’s slap punches annoy me and remind me of something I would see in a Roy Jones JR. boxing match.

8. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson

I really tried to like “Rampage” when he first came to the UFC, but his loud mouth quickly became an annoyance for me and his recent antics in regards to leaving MMA to pursue a full time acting career after all of his tough talk with Rashad Evans just makes me sick.

7. Hermes Franca

Everything about Hermes Franca bugs the shit out of me, from his comical purple smurf hair to the way he fights, regardless of just how skilled he is. It was nice seeing him get the ever living crap kicked out of him at UFC 103.

6. BJ Penn

This was a pretty easy choice for me and if it weren’t for a few other fighters in the list that piss me off more than BJ Penn I would assume you would see him closer to the number one spot. Any professional mixed martial arts fighter that let’s his mommy ge involved in his crazy legal battles after getting completley owned in a fight like he did against George St. Pierre is beyond pathetic, and coming from a loud mouth like Penn it’s even worse.

5. Matt Hughes

I would have been better off saying Matt “Douchebag” Hughes I just decided to be a little more kind than that, I had a tremendous amount of respect for Matt Hughes when he was on his incredible championship run, this all came to a halt when Hughes appeared on the Ultimate Fighter and acted like a complete asshole to pretty much everyone. The forced praying stuff pushed it over the edge for me. The fact that this jerk-off just signed another six fight contract with the UFC is nothing more than payback, he will age and get beat down long before he finishes his six fight deal, causing Matt Hughes to go into retirement… a place he can stay.

4. Tim Sylvia

Let’s be serious about Tim Sylvia for a moment, he was one of the most over rated fighters in the UFC and besides his one fight with Andre Arlovski that wasn’t a snooze fest he has done nothing to impress me. Tim Sylvia’s 5 minutes of fame as an MMA fighter came to an end for me before it ever got started, seeing Tim Sylvia get KO’d by Ray Mercer in about the same time it takes someone to push out a fart was priceless, thanks Ray now please retire.

3. Anderson Silva

I just want someone to fight this guy, fight him without having the mental breakdown that Forrest Griffin had during their fight and not the laying around on the ground stuff that went on during the Thiago Silva fight either. I have no respect for the excessive show boating that he likes to get involved in and can only hope that when Vitor Belfort fights him for the title in a few months that he will keep his head on straight and at least fight a smart and agressive fight, anything less and Anderson Silva will just make him look terrible too. Quit the excessive showboating and I might pull him off the list.

2. Brock Lesnar

I hated Brock Lesnar long before his dumb ass post fight actions after defeating Frank Mir at UFC 100, I can’t stand how few fights he has and yet holds a UFC Heavyweight title, I also can’t stand all the hype that surrounds him. I can only hope that Jeff Carwin can exploit some of Lesnar’s weakness’s when they, until Lesnar starts getting some real challengers or at least fighters that he doesn’t out weigh by 80lbs, I just won’t have any love for Lesnar.

1. Fedor Emelianenko

Yes, thats right I said it. I HATE Fedor and pretty much everything he has done over the last few years, I don’t care what Fedor did or who he beat 10 years ago and as I have said before I think Fedor is one of the biggest duck artists of all time. I am tired of hearing about Fedor, I am tired of hearing about M-1 Global and I am tired of hearing that he is going to fight a bunch of Top 10-20 ranked fighters while he protects his bullshit record and finishes his career out with Strikeforce.

I will say that James was right on point that making a list like this could turn out to be a tremendous amount of work, there are fighters like Michael Bisping that I would have loved to added to my list, but in current times and because Dan Henderson finally shut the guys mouth for a while, he gets a free pass. It’s safe to say that my list of the MMA fighters I hate the most could probably be 20 fighters long if I took more time to think about it. Thanks James for the great idea.
