I know I keep assuming that EVERYONE knows what Twitter is and even with the tremendous growth that Twitter has gone through over the last few months, there are still plenty of people that have no idea what Twitter is. This particular post is not really to answer the question “What is Twitter?”, so I won’t get into some long detailed explanation about what Twitter does. In short form, Twitter allows you to post Status updates and follow your friends, celebrities or in this case UFC fighters and receive their Status updates. A Status update is basically a, “What are you doing right now?” thing and in the world of the wild web you will also hear it referred to as Micro Blogging. You can follow me on Twitter here.
Being such a huge MMA fan and more specifically a huge UFC fan I went on a little search to find out What UFC fighters use Twitter. This was not the easiest task it’s not like there are any UFC fighters on Twitter that have a massive amount of tweets, or are anything like Britney Spears with 600,000+ followers. Not to mention Britney Spears barely posts new tweets and often when she does it’s someone in Britney’s management that is posting the Twitter messages for her. I wanted to find out what UFC fighters actually use their Twitter and stay somewhat active with it, I hardly expect some of the more popular UFC fighters or fighters that have a fight coming up to send constant Tweets. Enough chatter, here is a list of UFC fighters using Twitter.

I was somewhat surprised how few UFC Fighters actually use Twitter to connect with their fans now mind you I didn’t search every mma fighter in the world, I searched a few of the ones that came to mind that I mwouldn’t mind following (with the exception of a few). Mike Swick and Josh Koscheck were a couple of the fighters I would have liked to follow and were not using Twitter, which is odd because Mike Swick seems to use every aspect of the internet to keep his fans informed. I will have a follow up post to this that will feature more Mixed Martial Arts Fighters on Twitter coming up shortly.
