If you recently thawed out from being frozen in a glacier or you just really really suck at following whats going on in the online world than chances are you have no clue what Twitter is. I really don’t plan on getting into a long drawn out thing about what Twitter is or how to use Twitter, if your looking for information about Twitter just check out my Twitter section.
Now getting back to those of you that have been made full aware of exactly what Twitter is thanks to mainstream coverage and celebrities on Twitter, it’s safe to say that you know it’s one of the most popular social networking and micro-blogging sites in the world. Twitter is an excellent tool for bloggers as well as small business owners and people looking to make money online, oh yeah it’s also good for people that just like to blurt out status updates all day long too.
10,000 Tweets on Twitter
Those of you that subscribe to my rss feed or follow me on twitter know that I use the social networking site for all kinds of things, I guess that’s why I have piled up over 10,000 tweets on twitter. I use twitter to drive traffic to my blog, announce specials that we are running at either of my small business’s or just to connect with people and shoot the shizzie.
Twitter is currently my number 5 referring site out of all traffic sources based on Google Analytics, I have only been using Google Analytics to track blog stats on this blog since late in July, in that short period of time twitter has driven over 5,000 visitors to my blog. I didn’t bother to check the statistics for my indoor tanning blog, limousine blog or MMA blog, I also retweet specials and blog posts for those sites as well.
I don’t spend as much time on Twitter as I did back in the day when I first started to get involved with it, at one point I was averaging something like 75 tweets a day, I think at this point I probably tweet about 10 times per day. I really don’t pay much attention to how often I am tweeting as long as I am tweeting and networking with people that I follow on Twitter.
Before I get out of here I would like to thank my 5,000+ twitter followers for putting up with my endless banter and babbling and certainly thank all of you that are nice enough to retweet some of the crazy things that I tweet. Thank you for interacting with me and making it possible for me to reach 10,000 tweets.

@SafariDave, I heard about that. It’s pretty funny, now someone needs to tweet during sex than the world will be complete and packed with way more information than most of us need to know.
I wonder how long will twitter stay on top? Seems like yesterday that myspace was THE thing on the internet. I give about 2 years at most until Twittzilla starts fading.

That’s awesome john, i too have completed 10,000 tweets, and i agree twitter helps you get a lot of traffic and a networking helps you get more followers and hence more visitors. I think twitter is not a waste of time, but i don’t have time for both blogging and tweeting, so i have to decide which one is to be given more preference.

Well that is no small feat. I have been tweeting up a storm I thought but I am only up to 200 tweets. There is probably a healthy balance for everyone but this is a field that will continue involving, nice to know how you do it.

Well I just looked at the last 60 tweets on my page. Three were from you. Seems a reasonable number.
It looks like the 80/20 rule applies to tweeting. The top guy had 32 out of those 60 and the next guy had 10. Then it tapered off.

@Phil@workplace wellness, it’s tough to say. I have been more active on Twitter lately, certainly more active than I was when I wrote this post.
Twitter is starting to crack down on rss feeds loading up peoples accounts with no other content being added. I had 2 accounts suspended and they wouldn’t reinstate them cause 95% of the tweets were blog feeds.
