Gotta have my blog ‘Blog Engaged’ then. Now, where’s that plugin download link.
James Moralde´s last blog ..Bugs Bunny Poster
@James Moralde, I’m sure it’s stuff somewhere in this post
Number fourteen was the most of help for me. I didn’t know blog engage could help your Alexa rating so much. The blog engage traffic tripling is another intersting part of it. Seems fast to a newbie like myself.
Thanks, more great info
‘Ask your guests to vote your article up’… absolutely, if you don’t ask you don’t get. Vote, leave a comment, subscribe, etc are all ways of giving your readers a call-to-action, something to do as they hit the bottom of your post.
Great tips John.

Big thanks to Brian and everyone who participates via voting on BlogEngage

I’ll start with number 3, sounds easy and fun.
I’ll let you know.
Oh, I better get some readers first.
Great ideas! I’d love to add the button but can’t get my wordpress.com acct. converted to wordpress.org. When that finally happens I’ll be sure to add this plugin. Thanks for the great tips~
@Angela,
Angela, just download the vote image and add it to your post as an image. After you submit the post, get the url of the vote page and send your image to that page. The vote count won’t change on your blog but the link will get you some votes.
@Ileane
ileane´s last blog ..Promote Your Blog With a Podcast
@ileane, you really don’t have to do all of that. If you visit the Blog Engage promo tools section there is a code for a hardlink version, just slap that in to place.
@Extreme John, John, I don’t think that code works on WordPress.com blogs, maybe I’m using the wrong one. Which one are you referring to?
Thanks.

@ileane, not sure it’s going to show here but it should work in any HTML page or blog.

Great Advice and it works. Blog Engage is a great place to connect and meeting other bloggers. I think it might be time to change my buttons these look a little cleaner.

I only display the vote button in the post and no more promotion after this. I’m only able to get an average of 5 votes on each post, I’ll try all your tips here and see whether it helps to increase the vote.
So few still don’t realize the power in just asking.

Hi John,
All nice tips – and I really like number 12 … the monthly recap.
But my own personal favourite method right now is something that I just started a few days ago ( and so, of course, I’ve no real evidence to support it as a fantastic strategy yet!). Anyway what I’m actively trying to do much more of is to recruit quality blogs into BlogEngage.
Method – when commenting on a new blog that (a) I like & (b) I think could definitely benefit from BlogEngage membership …. I simply leave a short (P.S.) at the bottom of my comment such as
“P.S. Do you know about the fantastic BlogEngage community at http://www.blogengage.com/ ? I’m sure it would be great for your site to join there – and, if you do, please remember to add me – whatawebsite – as a friend ”
As a short-term vote getting strategy perhaps not the most efficient – but in the long-term it could help a lot …. ( thinking outside the box often does)
Cheers
Will
P.S. Hope you’ll want to join in my festive fun BlogEngage contest below ….
Will´s last blog ..Brianwave – The Alexa Ranking Contest
@Will, hey Will thank you for taking the time to leave a comment and share some of the things your doing to increase your Blog Engage network, I like that idea a lot all though I am curious, have you seen a lot of your comments get grabbed by the spam filter?
@Extreme John, Hi John, Glad you liked the idea – but how can I notice if my messages are getting grabbed by a spam filter?? ( and I’m not sure why they would as I personalise each message) Ok – great if you could answer this – and sorry for not being 100% internet savvy
… but I’m learning slowly!
Cheers
Will
Will´s last blog ..Brianwave – The Alexa Ranking Contest
@Will, not a problem. I enjoy answering questions when I can.
A lot of blogs such as mine use the Akismet Wordpress plugin, it catches spam or things it feels might be spam. Placing links into comment fields can trigger the plugin to toss the comment in the spam comments section, if a blogger doesn’t check his/her spam comments and they simply delete, the comment is lost.
The fact that you leave a detailed comment with some length is what allowed it to get through on this blog. It’s also important to note that many bloggers don’t like commenters leaving links in the comments field, even if it makes it past the spam filter.
@Extreme John,
Joining in on this, how about leaving an inactive link? just blogengage.com with no http:// – I think that may go through?
Anne from B6S.net´s last blog ..Adding Plugins to Your Wordpress Blog
@Extreme John, Hi John, Thanks a million for the good advice, I think I’ll forget putting the BlogEngage link (or any other) in future messages. I’ll just write about BlogEngage in the future… Sorry, by the way, for taking so long to reply here but my computer has totally crashed on me (I’m now on my girlfriend’s) – and it’s a case of trying to recover things. Bit of a stressful situation but will visit you here a lot more as soon as it is sorted out ! Cheers, Will
Great tips from the master! I am only doing about half of what you mentioned. I need to ask more, I have no problem asking for comments, follows, tweets, but I have not been asking for blog engage votes. I will take your advice and start asking…

@Tycoon Blogger@promote your blog, thanks Dan and be sure to let me know how it works for you.
It’s amazing how many people don’t simply ask for people to vote/leave comments/join as members.. it’s as though so many bloggers think its cheap, or rude to ask… But simply asking will always massively increase response

@Hard Rocking South African@Music Judge, those bloggers might want to rethink things a little bit, asking for a vote serves as an excellent reminder for people to contribute.
If the Post is outstanding then there is no need to ask for votes or doing any thing.
Reader will vote the post. (Quality is important)
Thanks for sharing the tips.
Tech Maish@Blogging Tips´s last blog ..10 Killer Tips and Tricks to Increase Twitter Followers
@Tech Maish@Blogging Tips, thank you for taking the time to comment. I will say however that the proof is in the pudding, asking (reminding) people to vote increases votes in a big way.
But all the popular bloggers are not asking from any one to tweet the post, or digg it or vote it.
Because they are providing quality and which attracts the readers.(In return they will vote)
@Tech Maish@Blogging Tips, everyone has their opinion, large blogs also have a lot more readers and I would be willing to bet if they did remind readers to vote or digg an article they would get even more than they already do.
What does the word “Vote” means.
It means to tell some one that you did good job and keep going on.
But if we will ask from some one to vote us.
Then it means that we are trying to say that “Please appreciate my work, whether it is good or not”
