Those of you that read my blog on a daily basis or follow me on twitter know that I am the founder and CEO of Extreme Tan and Smoothies, a family owned and operated chain of indoor tanning salons in Pinellas County Florida. Extreme Tan and Smoothies was established in 2004 in Largo Florida, since that time Extreme has taken a tremendous amount of pride in supporting local and national charities, especially during the holiday season.
Recently we kicked off our Free Tan for a Can event, the event was held at all six of our locations for an entire week and offered indoor tanning clients various options that would reward them free tanning for bringing in canned goods, Extreme Tan and Smoothies would then donate the canned goods to Metropolitan Ministries in Tampa, a non-profit organization that helps feed families in need. Our first free tan for a can event was a tremendous success thanks to all of our valued customers and new clients that wanted to help support a great cause, we collected over 620 cans of food to donate.
A few days before Christmas we sent the Extreme Tan and Smoothies mobile spray tan truck to Metropolitan Ministries along with James, Kristen and Shayna who were nice enough to volunteer their time to help with donations. The official weigh in was 630 pounds of food! I wanted to share a few of the pictures from Metropolitan Ministries with you, enjoy.

Great way to give back to the community bro! I used to live in Pinellas County (was actually born in Winter Haven) and I do miss the beach. I still have family spread out all over the state, so my next golf trip down will have to look you up!
Many thanks for giving back, not enough of us do that, even if you can’t afford to give money try volunteering for a cause.

Great event, John. Is next years goal 1,000 lbs?
I think the real winners in this are not only the people who received some of this food, but the generous people who donated.
