Some of you might remember that about  week ago I wrote the first Pre-Review for A-Niks Outdoor Cooling Systems. Since than I have had the Installation done and can now right my final review on dealing with A-Niks Outdoor Cooling Systems.

The install for the Outdoor cooling system was scheduled for Tuesday July 1st, which was confirmed by the guy from A-Niks Outdoor Cooling on the Sunday before. The entire process so far was anything but exciting and I wasn’t feeling too good about things going into Tuesday, regardless I stayed home from work that day so could be here for the Electrician as well as the guys from A-NIKS when they arrived to do their part of the install. Remember the Electrician was suppose to be here at 8am, than A-Niks at around 12:30 and we would have some relief from the muggy and way to hot Florida weather.

I sit and I wait around all morning, NO Electrician, NO Phone calls from anyone to say anything. I continue to wait and watch the clock, I continue to get more and more pissed, before  know it it’s already 11am and there’s no sign of an Electrician who needs to be done before the A-Niks guys. I continue to wait, thinking maybe the A-Niks installers are going to do their thing at the same time as the Electrician, no biggie I mean why would I gie a shit, as long as I have the cooling system installed and the waiting game is over.

I continue to wait, 1pm finally comes and still No Electrician, No Phone Call, No A-Niks, No Phone call, I wait until 2pm giving them even more of the benefit of the doubt, meanwhile knowing that this was fucked up before my day even began. I finally give the Installer from A-Niks a call, he knows exactly why I am calling when I call and makes that pretty clear right from go. He knows I am pissed, he knows I have every right to be pissed. He let’s me know he will call me right back and fight out whats going on, one thing he did that I cant stand more than anything is instead of taking any kind of responsibility for the situation and my entire day being pissed away because they can’t get their shit together. Instead of taking any responsibility he decided to blame the Electrician and how he called him and hadn’t heard back from him, he acted surprised that he was not there yet, all though I could tell he didn’t expect to hear that the electrician was here yet.

One thing I don’t understand is how hard it is for people to just admit when something isn’t right, in my opinion he did not have a clue if the electrician was there or not nor did he even think about the job because if he had and he had talked to the electrician you would think he would have called me, knowing damn well I had been sitting home all day waiting for the install to be done. I tell the A-Niks guy in a very nice way that someone needs to get to my house and get something installed or he can write me a check and refund me my money and I can go somewhere else to get the job done right. He was quick to say he would be out and get it taken care of, I thought that was pretty cool and I was alright with it for whatever reason, it must have been a good day.

About an hour later I get a call from the A-Niks guy and he says he is leaving now and he will be at least an hour before he gets to my house, it’s now 3:30pm. At this point I don’t really give a shit if someone shows up at 1am I just wanted to see something get done, based on the conversation it was pretty clear he didn’t want to come out and do the install, but I wasn’t about to say not to, I mean after all I just spent my entire day waiting around for someone to do something I had given them a deposit to do 3 weeks earlier, so fuck being a nice guy.

The Install is finally done at this point, the original Installer/Owner has yet to come back to the house, all though he had said he would be out to check on things and how the install went. The install portion of dealing with A-Niks was no better than the rest of the process, it was the same bullshit continued right through. An example of the bullshit would be how I told the installer the first time I ever met him, that I do NOT like holes in the walls, he swore up and down that everything would be done perfectly, no issues no anything. That went right out the window come install day, instead of measuring and getting proper distances I end up with multiple holes in the exterior block on my house, than on top of that they install a water softner for the Misting system, when we specifically talked the first time it was discovered that I would NOT need to have that installed because I have an entire home softner. So now I have some patched holes outside of my house as wel as on my Lanai that I can thank A-Niks for, oh yeah and no offer of them painting it or anything like that, guess I will take care of it. As for the electrician he cried the entire time as if he was wiring up the Empire State Building and the guys that showed up from A-Niks to do the install had no idea where the previous Installer/Owner had left off, just more communication issues. You can throw into the shitty experience that in addition to the holes the installers that finished the install could have been nicer, especially knowing that I am the customer, the customer who was paying for this shit and waiting, and waiting and waiting and losing a day at work amongst other things.

As for me and this job kiddies, I won’t be recommending A- Niks for your Outdoor Cooling Needs nor will I be calling them to put it in my next home. I wish them luck, they have a good product it really makes a huge difference on my Lanai, if they can just get the communication lanes open and read over a contract or invoice they wrote before doing a job I think they would be great.
