I think TV is on the way out for advertising, less people are watching it. People will choose to watch TV for the BIG GAME and there is advertising, but people now have choice and are choosing what they watch. Radio is ok for local advertising only. Advertising globally is the key.

John, very insightful article that I enjoyed reading. There are a lot of companies that could learn a lot from you! As you point out there are numerous ways to advertise a business. The advertising mediums businesses being considered are important to the industry that is marketing and who the audience is that you are targeting.
John, you are very savvy business man, especially when it comes to marketing your businesses. Since sales are ultimately what drive a business to succeed, you understand the power of integrating various forms of advertising to establish your brand and make your audience recognize it – and respond to it!
No company should rely solely on one type of advertising if they really want to grow their business. I completely agree with your thoughts that radio and TV are too expensive for most businesses. Billboard advertising can definitely create awareness and help in branding, although this medium is pertinent to specific types of businesses. Additionally it can be difficult to track. Vehicle wraps (basically mobile billboards) can be a very cost-efficient way to generate awareness throughout your community. If sales are up during an integrated marketing campaign, then they are most likely all working together to help you brand your business. The more times and the more places you can reach your audience, the more likely you are to capture their business.
Direct response marketing and direct mail advertising are the easiest to track due to the tangible results when customers redeem their special offer or coupons. Additionally direct mail offers the most targeted form of advertising. Direct mail is the #1 advertising medium after radio and tv in terms of dollars spent annually. Considering the hefty price tag of radio and TV, that says a lot about the success business have using direct mail to generate both immediate responses, as well as future business which occurs from repetition. The most important thing to consider when advertising is Return on Investment. Across all industries, direct mail averages $18 in return for every dollar invested. Now, if you gave me a dollar, and I gave you even just a $1.50 in back in return, would you be happy with that investment? I hope so - I'd do it all day long! Now how about if I gave you $18 back? Hell yeah! In my direct response business, we offer integrated marketing including the Money Mailer envelope, direct mail post cards and flyers, local Internet coupon distribution, and mobile opt-in text messaging programs. The biggest mistake businesses make is not allowing enough time to make their campaign “work”. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard, “I tried that once and it didn’t work. Hello? Repetition, Repetition, Repetition. Every “touch” brings you one step closer to earning a new customer.
All the while, here at www.moneymailer.com, we encourage businesses every day to keep doing what’s working and increase their budget to try other advertising (such as ours). While that makes sense in theory, you’d be surprised how many businesses do not understand how to effective advertise and market their business – and how many companies don’t even try new advertising. Isn’t there a saying about doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results? Well, unfortunately that’s what prevents a lot of businesses from realizing their dreams. John, I applaud you for your advertising marketing success. Keep doing what works and keep testing out new possibilities!

@Robert man Radio is an excellent advertising choice due to it's exposure, however as noted above it doesn't mean it's cost efficient for all business's to utilize.
