Affliction Day of Reckoning Review

I will actually probably call this a rant more so than just a review, I have been burning up since I decided to cheat and go through the Affliction MMA event that was on Pay Per View titled “Day of Reckoning“. I do want to say that right off the bat the fight card that Affliction put on was excellent, had some great old schoolers vs a couple of new guys I hadn’t heard of yet but that were certainly good in the MMA Game. Each fight had it’s own special little thing that made it worth watching and pretty entertaining, I mean how can Vitor Belfort fight Matt “The Law” Lindland and it not be a decent fight. We will never really know if it would have been a really good battle or not since Lindland had his head smashed in and remained in the ring unconcious for what seemed like 88 minutes.

Now that I have said all of the positive things I could come up with in regards to the fighters and their efforts and the card that was put together for this Affliction and Golden Boy Productions event. I am not even sure where to begin…… O.k let’s start with Affliction’s brilliant idea to have Tito Ortiz be a commentator, better yet let’s talk about how they let that fuckin complete moron have a microphone…. annnnnnd actually turn it on so he can interview the fighters. Im not sure which part annoyed the hell out of me more; was it the part when Tito honestly sounded like a complete idiot bumbling over his words like he just finished doing shots at the bar or if it was the part at the end of each interview when Tito would act all fired up than do a pathetic job of conveying it to the crowd. This was rediculously done at a very high level as Tito did everything but drop to his knees to finish off Fedor during his post fight interview. Ive seen  Tito act like an idiot for years, Im ok with it and it’s probably one of the things that made me like the guy even though I hated him most of the time. In my opinion Tito slipped into a roll he didn’t feel comfortable in, for a company he doesn’t feel comfortable working for and a company he feels like probably wont make it. Let’s be honest Affliction is going to need a lot more money to get this show to the point it’s not so effin annoying.

Moving on from there as a true fan of Mixed Martial Arts I could do without all of the pathetic Affliction bullshit, for example after Fedor won the fight (I wanna puke every time I say that), Donald Trump, Oscar De La Hoya and the little weasel that owns Affliction all jumped in the ring and took about 80,000 pictures… Arm in arm, mega smiles and even more gay than when the moron that owned the now vanished Elite XC screamed like a fairy ringside as Kimbo Slice got put to sleep by Seth Petrazelli.. where is that guy anyway? Hhaha. It’s safe to say that even the most novice of MMA fans could see how fake that entire part of the “Show” was, I mean honestly Fedor doesn’t understand shit and the little weasel from Affliction constantly whispered in his ear and always had a huge fake ass smile to go with it. And real quick before I forget….. How the fuck is Donald Trumps bitch relevant to Affliction, MMA, Fedor or anything else to do with what went on Saturday night? Why was I forced to look at her fake puty eyes every chance the camera guy had to video her? Might as well have slapped Preggo Jenna right next to her at least Jenna knows how to use those puty eyes and Im sure after doin Tito for as long as she’s been she knows more than enough and could have taught Donald and his wifey a little about the sport.

Now let me move on to Fedor…. All though I don’t want to because I believe the guy already gets way more love than he should get, but being me I can’t stop from spreading my views on his fight and the entire situation. One quick question… When is Fedor going to actually fight someone a little bit better than “Decent”? These ball suckers from Affliction and Golden Boy act as if this guy as really accomplished something, shit they even had the puppet Tito screaming how Fedor is now by far the best in the world. What a crock of horse shit, let’s face it in recent years he has managed to aoid a fight with Randy Cotoure at every turn, in addition to that let’s see… He arm barred some huge Asian guy when Pride Fighting was still around… Yeah it’s been a while and you new breed MMA fans might not have ever even heard of Pride, which is no big deal since none of us ever heard of the monster Asian guy that he arm barred either. Sorry just because a guy is 16′ tall hardly means that Fedor beating him will give me a chub, it doesn’t. Ahhh nothing like the video of Fedor vs Tim Sylvia that the shit stains at Affliction like to show, I guess they should show it as much as possible though since useless Sylvia didn’t last more than like 30 seconds and was paid $800,000 for his joke of an effort. Yet another pathetic opponent for this guy thats suppose to be the super bad ass on the planet. Joke. Than we have the Andre fight from Saturday….. The clothing designers turned fight promoters will have you believing that Fedor is the best ever and that on Saturday he was taking Andre apart. Thank god for Extreme John, do not be fooled! I haven’t re watched the fight but if my memory serves me correct I can’t even remember Fedor hitting or connecting with anything, not one punch, not one kick up… until the point Andre did what Andre is famous for and became to anxious and ran in with a flying knee and got caught with a brutal right from Fedor, hey every puncher has a chance and Fedor capitalized when he needed to and with excellent reflexes as well. Why my gripe you ask? Andre was kicking the shit out of Fedor and I mean litteraly, his kicks connected non stop and so did his punches, Affliction, Tito and Golden Boy will have you believing otherwise… Fedor was concerned, fedor did get hurt and Fedor would have been very lucky to make it out of that round. Andre beat Andre, just like a couple of months ago Urijah Faber beat Urijah Faber, Matt Brown didn’t beat Urijah Faber. Sorry Affliction and everyone else that feels that Fedor is the man, I can name 5 guys without even trying that would pick Fedor off (see below) in the event they were to fight, it’s just too bad he will be hiding out in Affliction where his opponents really don’t exist and when that goes down in flames like Elite XC Fedor will probably run to another fight league where he has no true competition. Bottom line the real fighters and the real competition is in the UFC, period.

WAMMA??? Jesus crhist that’s so pathetic sounding and it’s exactly what comes out of an organization that has no clue about fighting, run by people that have no clue about fighting. If Affliction, Trump and Golden Boy really wants this “WAMMA” title shit to stick the first thing they need is an abbreviation that doesn’t make me feel like im reading a childrens book. Next thing they will have to do is bring in someone that knows what MMA fans like and want to see, we are sports fans not just dumb beer drinking, teeth missing moron fans that just want to watch people hit each other. We need commentary that isn’t full of juiced up idiots trying to make us believe in something that just doesn’t feel right, lose the raspy voiced idiot, get rid of the fat little fuck Chuck Zito, make Tito sit at ringside with Jenna and have them smile alot, keep the Affliction nerd away from the inside of the ring, it’s bad enough we have to see him on MMA Weekly. Oh and of course it would be great if they would stop sucking off Fedor and until at least someone else that is washed up from UFC can get over to Affliction for another over publicized fight.

Besides the fight card which was packed with some good fighters and some of the really nice Affliction shirts that were worn by some of the fighters I can’t say that there was any part of the “Show” that I actually enjoyed. I like post fight interviews and I like them the way Joe Rogan does them, he doesn’t get all amped up and fake as shit about things like Tito did. I also like the pre-fight interviews as well, yet another area that Affliction made me want to pull my spikes out. Sure I will watch another Affliction event if they have it, I am a fan of MMA at all levels however I may be forced to watch it with the mute button on and avoid watching a Fedor fight until he actually fights someone with some real ability. Here’s a list of a few people I think would expose Fedor for the over rated asshole that he is, you will notice I didn’t even pick people from the same weight class… Thats simply because I doubt Fedor’s ability that much, it’s not by error. Keep in mind I would rather see MMA done in a cage and not a dumb ass ring where they have to keep resetting the fighters because they touched the bottom rope or someone is tangled up in the ropes… So stupid.

5) Urijah Faber (yeah I said it)

You don’t have to agree with me and you can very well believe Fedor is the cats meow, for me, for now, Im not even close to a believer. As Matter of fact tell me where to sign, I will be more than happy to fight Fedor. Notice how I said “Fight” I didn’t say anything about winning.
