American Idol kicked off tonight with only 8 American Idol contestants left, personally I think we need to scrape the walls and get it down to the American Idol Top 2-4. Fact is there just are not 8 memorable or excellent performers in the American Idol Top 8, you can disagree….. that’s just my two cents. I had some extra time tonight and honestly haven’t had any major exciting stuff to post so here’s my American Idol Top 8 Review from last nights show on Fox.
Danny Gokey – Danny Gokey was the first American Idol Top 8 to take the stage tonight, Danny performed “Stand by me”. Danny continued to disappoint in my opinion I am blown away that week after week the judges continue to try and sell Danny Gokey as a great singer week after week. Danny does nothing more than bore me into a position I consider fast forwarding through his performance. Danny is not going home this week, or at least I wouldn’t count on him going home just yet there are worse performers than Danny currently on American Idol, not a chance Danny makes it into the Finals.
Kris Allen – Kris Allen continues on his streak of annoying the crap out of me week after week, this week Kris did it by destroying the song “All She Wants to Do is Dance”. I am certain Paula will scream that Kris Allen made his performance, “His own” which he did it’s just too bad he made it his own disaster. Kris will stick around a little longer as much as I would rather see him go right now, I will continue to suffer for now. Just for the record 30 seconds after I wrote this Paula said exactly what I said she would say, overall the judges did not like Chris’ Performance and as usual Simon and I shared the same opinion.
Lil Rounds – Tonight Lil Rounds went with the Tina Turner Classic “Whats Love Got to Do with it”, sadly Lil Rounds no longer has what it is going to take to continue week after week. Her performance was flat and mirrored a Karaoke performance which the judges also muttered through the critiquing stage. Lil Rounds is at risk this week in my opinion, however my assumption is that Scott Macintyre or Anoop Desai will be the American Idol Top 8 performer that will be chopped this week.
Anoop Desai – By this point in the show I want to run my head through a cement wall, I am extremely close to crying like a baby from this crap I have seen so far tonight. Is there any chance I can call in a favor and we make this “4 Contestants from American Idol go home” week, seriously can we cut through the weeds and get to the people that actually have a shot at winning this thing. The song Anoop Destroyed tonight was “True Colors” by Cindi Lauper.
Scott Macintyre – Scott was out from behind the Piano tonight performing “Just the Way You Are”, which is something Simon had commented about wanting to see him do a few weeks ago. Scott was much more lively tonight than any previous night, which is cause for celebration at this point. Scott I am sorry…… your going home.
Allison Iraheta – O.k now I feel as if I an start breathing at a normal pace, the sweet folks at American Idol broke up the 40 minute long train wreck that I just explained to you. Finally someone that can belt out some damn lyrics, Allison had an excellent song choice and performance with “I can’t make you love me”.
Matt Giraud – Matt rolled out the Stevie Wonder classic “Part time lovers” tonight on American Idol and as much as I initially thought the train wreck would begin again, that wasn’t the case. Matt actually saved some face and earned a prop or two easily keeping himself in the competition for another week. Oh and at this point in time I would like to add that Paula needs to be tranquilized, she is out of her damn mind.
Adam Lambert – Sadly Adam Lambert s performance was cut off due to American Idol running over (which I am sure will have the masses in arms). I did catch it on the web and as usual Adam Lambert continues to deliver, he delivered to the point that Simon did something I hadn’t seen him do before which was call for a standing ovation. As I have been saying from the very beginning, Adam Lambert minus a disaster will be in the Final 2 American Idol performers.
In closing up my pointless American Idol review there really is not much to say, I mean honestly everyone performed the way that I figured they would. No big suprises here as we roll through the FInal 8 American Idol contestants. The stand outs that are terrible continue to be just that, terrible. Not sure I will post a review of the next American Idol, hope you enjoyed.

Adam Lambert is my favourite and i would like to see him win! I was quite disappointed that i missed the end of his performance. they really need to sort that out!

Well John, I tend to agree with pretty much everything in your post. I think that Adam Lambert is gonna win this thing, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Allison isn’t right there behind him. The others didn’t do anything that impressed me at all. My opinion.. Anoop will go home this week

I think Adam will win it all. Scott was terrible last night. I’m not sure his fan following can get him through this one… If it’s not him, my best guess otherwise is Lil Rounds! Danny is starting to irritate me.

I haven’t watched American Idol in a long time. I like to hear reviews so I can find out which clips to find on Youtube, and which ones I can be happy I missed out on.

@TCC you will soon see I am always right. Haha j/k, I think it was long overdue I understand that Scott has a solid fan base of supporters, with that said they did an excellent job supporting him and keeping him alive until now which is probably best for all of the viewers that actually want to hear something decent.
Even , Anoop Desai is Out, I like His performance, anyway the such TV shows are the play of “Luck”, but It's interesting.
