One of the main things that A Sound Decision recommended I have them put in when they did my Theater Room and re-wired my Audi Video Cabinet was the Apple TV. Up until this point I have been hard set against really becoming a user of Apple products, up until Christmas I didn’t even have an iPod I had a typical MP3 Player and what I have seen so far the iPhone hasn’t impressed me enough to switch from my Verizon Touch Screen Voyager.

The Apple TV promised to be something good from the feedback I received from Terry and Natalie the owners of a Sound Decision when we sat down to discuss the work in the house. They took the time to show me an Apple TV they already had set up in their Show Room and by the looks of things everything they said about it looked true, the Apple TV looked to deliver. Fast forward to current times and my Apple TV has been installed and set up, it took some time to get it networked into the house with all of the photos and music I had already collected over the years.

Once installed which was a pretty painless task, the Apple TV became a quick fan favorite in the house. On the first night we jumped on the Apple TV and ordered Alvin an the Chipmunks in High Definition, you have the choice of HD format Rental, Standard Definition Rental and HD Purchase. I am a High Definition freak so of course I went with the HD Purchase to add it to the Library for the kids. No DVD to store since the Apple TV comes in two Hard Drive sizes, we went with the 160 gig drive so there is plenty of space available. When I started to look for a movie for the kids to watch I was curious about the selection, would it be limited in time like Direct TV or would it be a crappy Standard Definition format like most cases when dealing with Brighthouse Cable? Nope I have never seen more movies offered than the Apple TV Catalog offers through the iTunes store. You can even purchase movies right on your home computer and it will autmoatically be added to the Apple TV and the On Screen library, I only wish they offered the purchase of High Definition through the iTunes store instead of standard formats. If your looking for a movie I doubt you will have a hard time finding it with Apple TV.

When it comes to storing your photos the Apple TV is perfect, not only does it allow you to store photos but when hooked up through an A/V system it will rotate those pictures along with your music on any of the TV’s in your home. It has one of the best Sideshow features I have seen in a long time. It doesn’t end with the photo’s either, you can download TV Shows, full series or single episodes directly through your Apple TV, you can even watch You Tube videos and save your favorites so you can watch them any time you want on any TV you want.

I am very happy with my decision to go with the Apple TV and see it being something that is one of the most used items in my Audio Video Cabinet. If you have the chance to get an Apple TV for your home I would highly recommend it. I won’t say I am ready to start praising Apple just yet but this is a great start.
