Blog About Nothing

I’m sitting here and it’s 11:28pm on Friday Night as I write this, I am watching Strikeforce on Showtime which seems to have a pretty good fight going on right now. I usually try to avoid being on the computer when there are any mixed martial arts events on, but for some reason tonight I am really mellow.

Right about now I would typically be panicking because I never got around to doing a throwback post today and I had a pretty good one in mind. Instead I am sitting here and have no energy to write that throwback series post, or any other informative post of any kind. I do however feel like writing, not sure if it’s the fingers on the MAC keyboard or just being lazy, either way I don’t feel like doing a bunch of research to post anything useful. To be honest I don’t really feel like writing about anything in particular.

The first thing that comes to my mind to write about would be my day and what I did today, not that I can imagine why any of you would want to read what I did today, plenty of you that follow me on twitter see it enough. I have pretty much always stuck by the “it’s my blog I will do what I want” theory, which means I guess if I want to sit here and write a blog about nothing I can go ahead and do it. Consider this my blog about nothing, with a little bit of today sprinkled on top.

First thing I did this morning was follow up on any information that may have come up from my post about a murdered family yesterday. Special thanks to everyone that re-tweeted the message and got the word out there, I recieved information late last night that someone connected to someone involved (directly or indirectly) was contacted after someone retweeted my initial message. Thats pretty sweet, who knows if it will leed to anything and even if it doesn’t it still shows the amazing power of twitter and the tweeps that use it.

Our English Bulldog Kennedy needed to head to the vet today so I decided to take Reagan to the office with me for the day, he loves the car. I like taking him to the office but it’s honestly a giant pain in the ass on a Friday, the office is like grand central station on Friday’s. Every time I think of Grand Central Station it always reminds me of the video titled Frozen Grand Central Station, which is pretty amazing especially if you have ever been to Grand Central Station. Back on track, Reagan has giant fat lips and constantly drools which than causes him to pick up dirt, dust and whatever else and not even be aware of it, which than creates a problem when he wants to sniff people that come in the door.. They become Reagan’s napkin.

After arriving at the office I spent a large part of my morning looking through top tv shows and at different networks that might interest me for advertising Insane Limos. Our advertising package with Brighthouse Networks recently came to an end, I really was not thrilled with the overall experience of airing commercials with Brighthouse. I did however love the production of our Insane Limos Commercials as well as the final cuts of all four of the Insane Limos commercials.

I had another long week this week which really had me focused on working a shorter day today or at least finishing out the day a little earlier from home instead of the mad house office. Before I headed out I had a meeting with Mike from Clear Channel Outdoor about our up and coming billboard campaign which is dedicated to Mobile Airbrush Tanning. A couple of weeks ago I posted Mobile Airbrush Tanning pictures from one of our airbrush spray tanning test sessions.

After meeting with Mike I needed to come up with a new ad design to replace our existing Money Mailer direct mail full page ad that we have, we did not design the initial ad and it currently doesn’t meet our typical ad specs. I like our ad’s to have a specific look, which can be a real battle to reach from time to time. I called on our new designer Dawn to work on this project, below is a “SAMPLE” preview of the ad that Dawn designed today, I have a few corrections and changes that I would like to make to it but you get the idea.

As I tried to get everything wrapped up at the office it seemed more things would come up, giving limo tours, discussing computer repairs with Steve Ritt of Ritt Technologies who has been working on our tanning salon and office computers for a while now. Steve knows his stuff and always does a kick ass job getting us taken care of in a crunch, especially when it came to the Extreme Tan and Smoothies expansion.

Without going into all of the brutal details from the evening I will try to get this closed up so you can move on and read something much more entertaining. After getting home from the office and dropping reagan off around 3:30, I headed out to pick up “Rerun” from school. After the pick up we headed over to Palm Harbor Elementary School which is being closed down after this school year, for their final “Family Fun Night”. After we were there for about an hour the clouds finally opened up and hooked us up with some badly needed rain, I will be posting some Florida Drought pictures over the weekend. It seems like just yesterday I was posting Florida Frost Damage Pictures from this past winter here in sunny and almost always hot Florida.

Palm Harbor School Closing

We ordered up some Pizza Hut for dinner, which was a trade off for my daughters “Family Fun Night” being rained out again. I was ok with having to leave the fun night thing because of the rain, we were there for almost an hour and half, there’s only so much fun I can have in one night. More importantly was the fact that Eminem was going to be live on Shade 45 from 8pm-10pm, there was not a chance I was going to miss that. I am a huge Eminem fan, I posted the Eminem Relapse Leak as well as a few updates and show appearances that Eminem will be making for the release of his Relapse Album on May 19th. They played the entire Relapse album and discussed each song on Relapse after it completed playing, it was perfect to chill back and listen to on the lanai in the dark.

I also had some extra time to jump onto twitter today to get involved in some “follow friday” love, you can see who showed me love and who I showed some love to in my “Sunday Smash” where I list everyone I recommended and thank those that recommended me for #FollowFriday. It is usually right around this time on Friday night that I decide what I am going to write about that I have not had a chance to write about over the last few days. Aside from my normal everyday posts (if you call them normal) I also have some topics I think about during the week that I like to throw in as additional updates over the weekend.
