I am serious here bloggers, if you are a blogger and you currently offer any form of social bookmarking options or sharing option on your blog and your not using Twittley, your pretty much blowin it. I know those of you that have been reading the EJ blog for a while are wondering what the hell I am doing writing about Twittley and giving blog tips, answering that question is simple. Twittley is the goods.
I wrote my initial Twittley review about a month ago, at which point the Twittley button wasn’t even a WordPress plugin yet. You can read more about the Twittley button in my Twittley review for Twitter. In the event your too lazy to click that link, in short Twittley is a “Digg” type of button that you can place on your blog allowing your blog visitors to boost your article rankings.
Many of the seasoned bloggers and def the pro bloggers are probably wondering why they should bother using the Twittley button if they already have a Digg sharing button in place, the answer to that is very simple as well. Digg has been around for a tremendous amount of time and receives a tremendous amount of article submissions daily, receiving any real traffic from Digg is tough unless your a monsterous size site like Mashable.
The Twittley button provides a real traffic return for the very small amount of effort it takes to install the Twittley WordPress Plugin, and actually use it. Twittley is catching on very quickly and I am noticing more articles about Twittley button on sites like Deneil Merritt and Blazing Minds, Deneil shows of his Twitter referral stats and Blazing Minds explains why they are using the Twittley button instead of TweetMeMe for Twitter.
The Twittley button is sleek, it’s even freakishly sexy.. I bet I could cut glass if I wanted to. Anyway the reality is that the Twittley button is simple, convenient and certainly more attractive than the TweetMeme button and the Digg button.
What makes Twittley so Hot?
- Your readers never leave your site
- Higher traffic return than Digg with less effort
- Better category selection
- Better service, the Twittley people are so bad ass they added a Mixed Martial Arts category
- Constant communication on the Twittley blog
- Better looking button
- Extremely fast and efficient article submission process
Tips for using the Twittley WordPress Plugin
- After you publish a post submit your article to Twittley, this saves someone wanting to Tweet your article the hassle of actually submitting the article to Twittley
- When you submit your articles make sure your keywords are accurate, some blogs do not pass the complete tags or incorrect tags
- Use short descriptive text when submitting your article so readers want to see more
- Make note of the Twittley button to your visitors, don’t be afraid to close the deal ask for the Tweet
- Move your button placement weekly, it stops the button placement from getting stale
- Be active in the community, visit Twittley, retweet articles and leave comments.. you get what you give
I would suggest the Twittley wordpress plugin to any size blogger, it is an excellent traffic source for new blogs and it is an excellent compliment to a large established blog. If your one of my RSS subscribers that really isn’t into blogging and you happen to have a Twitter account please take a moment to click the Twittley button at the top of this article, I would appreciate the retweet.

So, is that tiny icon the result of this spectacular plugin? I’m the first one to comment and the first to click it.

Your button works! I saw a tweet from Sire and came to take a look.
Funny thing, our blogs are not even Wordpress but, I still wanted to know what the new Twittley button was.
I must agree, that button is sexy!

John, I couldn’t agree with you more. I am a recent convert to Twittley from Tweetmeme and I have seen great results over the past week. What has tweetmeme ever done for me? you guessed it…nothing..

Just one note John. You are talking about plugin and you didn’t give any link to download it

@SherylLoch
The nice thing is that you don’t even need to be using a blog to implement the Twittley button.
All you need to do is include a javascript call to our site and we’ll do the rest. It’s not as nice as far as auto-tagging and the such goes but it’ll still do the job.
OK, now I am confused. You actually have two buttons displaying different results. What’s with that?

@shotofcoffee Excellent let me know what you think of it, I think your going to like it.
@deneilmerritt Without a doubt the Twittley wordpress plugin is the best. You seem to know what your doing thats for sure. Btw, my pleasure.
@tycoonblogger Tweetmeme offered convenience for me to get my article on Twitter quickly, Twittley offers longer term traffic benefits.
@Goranek Problem solved, I had it linked in the post to your original Twittley article. Thank you
@Joel Vaillancourt Thank you, I wasn’t even aware of that and I have been considering checking out some of the other blog software out there.
@AussieSire Two different button, one is Twittley and the other is Tweetmeme, I just haven’t decided to part with Tweetmeme just yet. I like to test things long term when they are somewhat knew to ensure performance consistency.

So far I like it, we’ll have to see if generates some more tweets for me blog. The only thing that I didn’t like is that it sent out another tweet promoting the system without asking my permission. Not such a fan.

hmm
I personally think it’s over rated but I do use it! I also vote for many people including another commenter here named deneil. (That’s where I heard about it first) Check out his blog it’s a must read for great info.
I’m having issues on my blog running both plugins. The votes aren’t showing up when on the home page for each article.
If I had to pick any it would be tweetmeme and that’s why on my blog I have the blogengage and tweetmeme wordpress plugins!
p.s. sweet blog! Love the main image! Dugg, Stumbled, retweetd and tweetmemed.
What’s up Sire!

Hello, The twittley button really works, I think it is one of the most essential community gadget of any blog.
@shotofcoffee I agree I don’t like anything sending tweet without me asking, all though I don’t remember that happening with Twittley.
@bbrian017 Hey thanks for commenting and def thank you for all the social bookmark love, thats awesome of you. Not everyone is going to like Twittley but the majority seems to, I also think you might want to share the things that you don’t like about Twittley. The creators of Twittley have been in this article or comment on their blog, they have been very helpful with any issue or concern that we have had.
@SherylLoch How great is that and who knows now maybe you will be able to integrate the button and offer some feedback about Twittley.
@Ronald Really? Thats a pretty big statement.

Hey Extreme John,
I just installed the Twittley button, mostly due to your praise and Sire’s praise. So far, I like it, and it’s encouraged me to get more serious about my tweeting, which I’ve been putting off. However, now with Twittley, which I just love, I am inspired to tweet more. For such a new plugin, it’s already lightyears ahead of others. Thanks for the recommendation, and this is a really cool blog you have going, by the way!
