Breckenridge Colorado Pictures

by Extreme John on February 1, 2009 |

Or better yet maybe it should be properly renamed to “The Most Amazing Place on Earth”… Actually nevermind, they dont have to rename it anything because that’s exactly what I will consider it. Over 9,000 ft into the air is a little town with 8,000 locals and the Main St. that everyone pictures in their head when they picture a Main Street of old. Breckenridge has a ton of history and all of the things anyone could ever want to do when choosing a winter ski and snow vacation destination.

Over the next couple of days I will be posting pictures of Breckenridge Colorado and some of the things we did on our trip there. I will also be posting reviews of some of the Breckenridge Bars and Restaurants as well as reviews on Snow Mobiles and Dinner Sleigh rides in Breckenridge. My camera took a crap while we were there so pretty much all of the pictures from Colorado are from Lisa and/or Stephanie’s camera, I have yet to get pictures from Michele’s camera and will post them when I do. Today’s Colorado picture update will be from our first day of travel from Tampa to Denver than up into the mountains to Breckenridge.

Beau Jo’s in Idaho Springs, Colorado

On our way up to Breckenridge someone recommended that we stop at at this world famous Pizza place called Beau Jo’s in Idaho Springs. Beau Jo’s boasts natural Pizza made with the finest ingrediants and custom made to fit anyone’s diet needs, Beau Jo’s also uses Colorado Honey in place of Sugar in order to make their Mountain Pies sweat. The service at Beau Jo’s was o.k and the Pizza was ok as well, it’s big pizza place with that old town look and feel but still doesn’t come close to my hometown NY Pizza.

Picture of Snow Covered Colorado Mountains

When we first got into Denver and started to head up to the house on 38 Fletcher Ct in Breckenridge Colorado I was pretty dissapointed, it was cold but  didn’t see any snow instead I saw dirty dry mountains which started to get me annoyed. As we got further up into the mountains after we left Beau Jo’s pizza the clouds started to open up and I finally started to feel good about the fact that there should be snow when we get to the house. I mean who the hell wants to go to a place like Breckenridge and not see snow, insanity.

Stopping at Beau Jo’s broke the drive up to the mountain up and broke it up pretty good, the roads weren’t bad at all and there was no traffic going in our direction. We arrived at the house around 4 o’clock I think and it was already snowing which made it great for pictures and of course gave the kids some added excitment. The house sits back in a court and is the only house on the court it sits mountain side with incredible views out of every single window in the house. I will post more pictures from our trip to Colorado and show more detail of inside of the 7 bedroom 8 bathroom house that seats 20 in the kitchen and sleeps twenty. The house recently sold for $2,250,000.00 which is much less than I thought it would have gone for.

Extreme John — We will be at that VERY house on Saturday! Our whole family — mom, dad, kids, grandkids — are staying there for a week. Glad to hear you liked it …

And now, I’m preparing myself for altitude sickness.

@Jennifer Wow what a small world! I hope your trip to Breckenridge Colorado (in my house) is excellent, by far one of the most beautiful places on earth. I have already made the decision that when I sell my Tanning salon business I fully intend to move to Colorado, I love that place. We were there months ago and till this very day the kids talk about how much they love it, when I say I think about it every day it’s the truth. Gosh Im jealous.

Is there anything good to do here on vacation? It would be a family of 4. It’s with a timeshare so we know where we are staying. Is there good stuff to do/see here for a week? Any links or advice (if you have been there too) would be great.

These are some great pictures… I’ve never been to Breckenridge, but it looks like the quintessential Colorado ski town. I’m seriously considering it from the upcoming season.

Great pictures. It’s getting to be that time of year again. Anyone know when the season really starts to get going at Breckenridge? You know that really good snow pack for good skiing. I haven’t been.
