Breckenridge Colorado Vacation Pictures II

by Extreme John on February 4, 2009 |

A couple of days ago I posted a few Breckenridge Colorado Pictures from out first day getting into our Colorado Vacation, than I followed it up with a post about Altitude Sickness which is the real deal when it comes to traveling to the Colorado Mountains. Bottom line if you go to Breckenridge Colorado for the amazing mountain views, skiing, snowmobiling, sleigh riding, relaxation, horse and carriage rides through Main Street or anything else snow and winter vacation related that you can think of you better be aware of Altitude Sickness and how to avoid it. Why is it that I had to focus on the negative like the Altitude Sickness instead of spending more time on the amazing things about Breckenridge Colorado and our vacation there? Guess thats just me. Let’s move on to some pictures from our Colorado Vacation.

Snowy Mountain view from our Breckenridge Back Porch

One of the days we went in to town we decided to text Nate and see if he could see us on one of the Breckenridge Live Cams, you can see the Breckenridge Live Cam here. If you see the Christmas tree that is lit up thats exactly where we stood while I text Nate and he confirmed that he could see us, Im sure we looked like a bunch of idiots 8 people waiving into the middle of nowhere, not that we cared as long as Nate was able to see us and say hi. Click here for the North View Cam or you an click on the Town Center Cam as well.

Sleigh riding pictures in Breckenridge Colorado

One of the best things we did was renting the house on 38 Fletcher Court it allowed us to hang out as a family and made it convenient to stay at the house if we didn’t feel like taking the less than 10 minute ride into town. The kids were able to Sleigh ride right on the property as were the adults :) Sorry sleigh riding kicks ass I don’t care if you like it or not, I think one of the best things we did while we were there was the time spent with the kids making new paths to sleigh ride down or having snowball fights or even playing with this random Golden Retriever that showed up from down the street. The privacy of the house and the snowy mountain tops made the private house much better than renting a condo or hotel room, especially with 8 people.

Picture of Main Street Breckenridge Colorado

On my next update I will focus on more pictures from Breckenridge Colorado, the next batch of pictures will focus on Main Street and include some reviews for Downstairs at Eric’s in Breckenridge Colorado and a review on a Horse and Carriage ride through Main Street and around so many of the historic buildings and places in this little town. The next picture update from breckenridge will also be the final update with pictures and will include the link to all of our Breckenridge Colorado pictures, including Snowmobiling and our Sleigh Ride Dinner show at Good Times Adventures.

I was just wondering what it was like to actually live there, like what the neighborhoods looked like and stuff…if anyone has any pictures or can show me a website where I can see some pictures of what Colorado is like besides all the nature and mountains and stuff that would be great.

@Compute Live I have already decided that I will be moving there at some point in my life, regardless if I have to live in a shack or the amazing house we stayed in when we went there on vacation. I love Breckenridge Colorado.

Relaxing place to be (once you get used to the altitude), Breckenridge gave us a lot more value than we expected for our ski trip. When we could not go skiing on our last day, we were refunded our ski rental and lift ticket fees we had paid in advance. Shops weren’t pushy, the town was picturesque, and the skiing was fantastic.

Breckenridge looks like a cool place.
I “only” have been skiing here in Europe. Love to travel to the U.S. for a ski vacation.

Looks cold … it looks freezing cold … it looks EXTREME-ly cold!! Certainly looks fun though. I like the idea of sleigh riding, and even of the isolation of being right in the snow. Less than ten minutes into town turns into more than a few days if you get a big storm – pretty extreme :-). I checked out the altitude sickness post as well, sounds nasty … you’re right, it’s one of those things that kind marketers won’t tell you, even if you have made a firm booking, put down a deposit and everything. You never think of places within the States as being hard for people from other parts of the same country to live in. Goes to show though, huh?

Looking like cool place to enjoy. Horseback riding is the ideal way to view the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Enjoy the peace and quiet as you meander along the vast system of trails.
