Britney Spears Concert Pictures and Review

by Extreme John on March 9, 2009 |

There is nothing better than a last minute spur of the moment Sunday night concert, especially if the concert is Britney Spears and The Pussycat Dolls… and you have kids. No I am not one of those guys thats going to act like he didn’t want to go to the concert, I wanted to go. Let’s face it Nicole from the Pussycat Dolls, all of the Pussycat Dolls and Britney Spears how can any straight guy not want to see that concert. I ended up getting the tickets late last week and wasn’t really sure what seats would be available and I knew that taking the kids would mean I wanted some decent seats. I ended up giving up on Tickets Now and Stub Hub and decided to see what Ticketmaster had in stock (if anything). I remember back to the Justin Timberlake concert when we had “Bar Stool Seating” and we loved it, only problem was all of those seats were sold out for the Britney Spears concert. I ended up stumbling on to Britney Spears Love Seat Tickets, I wasn’t really sure what this was about and anywhere I looked online no one had any mention of the Britney Spears Love Seats and where exactly those seats were. I ended up picking up 8 of the Love Seat tickets and even when printing the tickets out from Ticketmaster and even with the printed ticket the people at the stadium had no idea where the seats were. Shocker. When we started to head in the direction I thought it would be in someone decided to put us into the general admission area until one of the ushers figured out where the seats were. We ended up being in the Center Ring VIP East Section which were the Love Seats, the seats were pretty bad ass and extremely comfortable. Here is a picture of the seating for the seating labeled “Love Seats” for the Britney Spears Concert. I would highly recommend this seating to anyone that goes to the concert.

The Pussycat Dolls opened for Britney Spears and as of late I have been a huge fan of Nicole the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls, she’s hot. James doesn’t think so, but who cares. Haha. Anyway back to Nicole from the Pussycat Dolls, I was excited to see how her performance would be and if she would lip sync the entire performance. Unlike Britney Spears the Pussycat Dolls actually sang every song and yes they stillllllll actually performed and danced instead of making excuses to lip sync their sets. The Pussycat Dolls definitely increased the shows value and did an excellent job of addressing Tampa Bay fans and one of the PCD‘s brought her niece on stage which Im sure made that little girls night. They also did an excellent job of working some classic songs into their set with a good twist which everyone seemed to like. The energy was excellent and they did an excellent job at hyping up Britney Spears as well, basically they did their job and did it well. Here is a picture of Nicole from the Pussycat Dolls during one of their performances in Tampa, I will be posting more pictures on Wednesday from the concert.

Now moving on to Britney Spears and her “Circus World Tour” performance in Tampa Florida on March 8, 2009. The show started off with Britney opening by coming down from the ceiling and performing the song Circus. The stage and set were excellent and created some great energy to kick off Britney’s concert, that energy seemed to lag in between songs and from song to song. I also think Britney was a little mix of terrified and excited which alarmed me, or at least made me think she was still a little loose in the skull. I think Britney and crew did a good job going from song to song, which honestly isn’t that hard when your clearly lip syncing and not even doing a great job at that. The true hardcore Britney Spears fans out there will tell you I suck and will go on to rave about how amazing she was, but I analyze sh*t and honestly I can go on for an hour about my issues with Britney Spears and her concert performance.

Britney Spears comes down from the ceiling to open the concert

I was thinking about it last night when we got home and all I kept thinking was that if Britney Spears wants to continue touring and having people buy tickets for her concert she is going to need to get her sh*t together. A couple of years ago we went to one of Britney’s post breakdown performances at the House of Blues in Orlando Florida and we were subject to the fact that she was going to lip sync because she had just started her comeback. It was sold to us and well it’s Britney Spears so most of the public and her fans will buy that stuff, the first time around. Now here we are a couple of years later and supposedly Britney is no longer psychotic and she’s back again with her World Tour (sounds big), and here we are being sold that she will lip sync her concert because she simply dances so much that she would not physically be able to sing her own songs. Ummmmm, I bought that for a second too and that lasted until about half way through the Pussycat Dolls concert set when they clearly sang every lyric and danced much harder than Britney ever came close to dancing last night. Sorry to Brit’s handlers but you won’t sell me on another lip sync excuse and in reality Britney is either going to need to get her ass into better shape and practice the dance moves a little harder because if your going to sell me that you have to lip sync because of how hard you dance, I expect you to dance REALLY HARD. Not her case last night.

I will be posting more Britney Spears Circus concert pictures on Wednesday this week so check back for the rest of my review and pictures from the concert.

I wonder why she wasn’t singing…

Well the rumor was that she wasn’t going to sing any of her songs because her dance routines were sooooooo hard and energetic that it would inhibit her ability to sing the songs decently. I honestly think it’s because she’s out of shape, not that I should talk but Im also not Britney Spears ya know. She honestly spoke to the crowd twice and very very briefly she seemed very “off” at times and than at other times she seemed to be having a great time. Weird.

So let me get this straight? She didn’t do any singing? I’m so going to becoming a pop star tomorrow.

Extreme John March 9, 2009 at 6:39 pm

Yes you have that correct NO SINGING just like at the House of Blues, you can add no talking to the list as well as not lip syncing at clear times that she should have been.

I got the center ring seats…is that what you had? Is it worth it? I dont know if i should keep them or sell them, would it be the same experience on a stool or farther back? Ive heard that you cant see much becaues your view gets blocked by props. Is that true? Should I keep the seats I have or find ones for cheaper?

Extreme John March 9, 2009 at 9:06 pm

Nicole I would def keep the seats you have the view was excellent in my opinion and your not going to get any closer than that either, or at least not that I saw.

I heard that all she did was flop her arms around and didn’t even dance that much. Glad I didn’t waste my money. I don’t care how much I like someone I’m not spending money to watch someone lip sync. What’s the point?

I can see where your coming from, but I also like the entertainment value of concerts, the show is a big part of it for me and her “Show” was excellent. I will attribute most of that to her dancers and road crew that did an amazing job. In my next post I will touch a little bit on how I thought her wardrobe people should be fired, or maybe even hung. That will be Wednesday. I also have a video I will be posting here if I can get some time to convert it and upload it.

John, I’ve got to tell you. I hate it when artists lip sync at concerts. I don’t know why, but it always pisses me off. I have always respected the ones that sing all of their own songs live.

On a side note, I get even more angry when they want the crowd to sign. LOL. My feeling is that I didn’t pay for the ticket to hear myself sing. But I can see how the crowd gets into it as part of the show.

Anyway, I was digging the pics from the show.

TCC – Ya know the initial news of her lip syncing her entire world tour really didn’t annoy me when I firstr heard it, I figured hey if she dances and performs THAAAAAAT HARD than sure go ahead and lip sync, it’s not like Im in some crazy love with her voice. I would rather see her be in some great shape and wearing some small stuff. I would have been fine with it, the reality of the situation set in when I realized not only was she not going to sing one word, but she also wasn’t going to address the crowd and she certainly didn’t DANCE or PERFORM THHHHAAAT HARD. Bottom line Nicole from the Pussycat Dolls made Britney look silly with her excuses about why she has to lip sync.

Mike March 9, 2009 at 10:43 pm

So let me get this straight people paid money to see Britney Spears…just to see her? I’m in the wrong business. I would’ve demanded my money back! That’s unreal how bad pop music has become.

Reply

Extreme John March 10, 2009 at 10:31 am

Well MS you can’t blame ALL of Pop Music, you have to keep in mind Britney is an Icon of our times in her own right and has a following of VERY loyal fans that honestly would pay to watch her fart if she was selling. This is where it creates a problem for me, Im not that fan and I am a realist… If your going to suck one way you might as well be beyond amazing another way. The sad reality is though, she is not that hot and she doesn’t put the dance effort in that she use to and than of course she also doesn’t sing… Kinda makes it rough, now on a side note the seats were excellent and the Pussycat Dolls do a pretty solid job at what they are suppose to do so there’s plenty of entertainment value with the concert and to add to it my kids haven’t stopped talking about it since.

Hi,
I loved seeing the picture of the ringside seats, I wasn’t sure at all about how they were, so thanks for that. Also, because you were sitting on the loveseats did you happen to see the Ringside Stools? They’re also center ring, behind the loveseats(as far as I know),the stools are only center ring, not on the east/west sections. No one has any information about them. Did you see them all? I really would appreciate your answer.
Thanks
Pam

Hi Pam,

Yes we could look over our shoulder at any time and see the Bar Stool seating it’s probably about 8′ behind the Love Seat seating.

Hey John,

quick question buddy. I notice you have pictures on here. Were you allowed to bring in your camera? What was security like? I’m going to be standing in the VIP GA and I was unsure if security was checking for cameras at the door or snatching them up during the show.

Thanks bro.

Aary,

It’s funny that you ask that question. When we went to see Britney at The House of Blues the first time, we couldn’t even bring our cell phones in. You had to check them into a zip lock bag and get them after the show. This show (or maybe just this venue) not one person asked to see anything nor were there any warnings about bringing stuff into the show. Now with some of the mic mess ups that might have changed but it was all clear here.

I went to her concert when I was younger about 8-9 years ago. :) It was an awesome concert. My mom liked it too!! The lipsynching wasn’t obvious to me even though I knew she was. The thing is is that I don’t think its possible for her to sing her songs now because there is not much singing in her songs. When she is singing, it’s altered like it’s obviously half computer, half voice. Even though lipsyncing is not a big deal for me, if you have a concert, charge a lot for tickets, have a lot of money and experienced producers behind you, the show should still be good. It is upseting for me to hear that she didn’t put on a good show, and was even too lazy to move her mouth. I’m going to the concert on Thursday with VIP GA, i’ll post on here to let you know what I thought.

Jocelyne,

First off thank you for even reading my reviews and opinion about the Britney concert. I do want to say, I am sure that Britney will put on an excellent show when you go, we have to keep a few things in mind… First off Im hyper critical of everything, ask anyone that really knows me. Next up it’s important to mention it was only Britney’s second maybe third show (I dont remember) so Im sure a lot of the wardrobe issues that made me ill and a few of the other issues will most likely be gone, so Im sure your going to get an excellent show and I would love to hear your feedback after you go to the show so please share it with everyone here. Have a great time and enjoy yourself!

Oh and yes you are allowed to have digital cameras just not the ones with the removable lenses, so like no heavy duty ones. A ticketmaster agent told me herself over the phone!

Just came back from the show in toronto. I had floor seats, and i have always been a britney fan. i ve been to every concert she has ever done, and this one was the worst and the last i will ever go to. She was not energetic…she did not sing…she did not adress the crowd (maybe 5 words in total), and there was not even a jumbo tron on her, I think this was because she forgot the words to her own songs…It looked like she was on pain killers or something, but for the amount of money, it was nottttttt worth it. I understand she is dealing with shit, but she should not be performing. You can’t do a half fast job, and charge up the ass. She will loose a lot of fans after this. It is not her fault, its her greaty managers, record label, and propably her parents who pushed her to do this, so then can cash in…i really think she would rather be at home thinking of ways to kill herself

Dave I need to let you write some blog posts on here, your Britney Spears concert follow up from Toronto made me feel exactly as if I were back at the concert we went to in Tampa. It’s sad to see Britney either being shoved down this road or to see her making the choice to be that terrible on her own. Thank you so much for sharing and I hope that others reading this info and considering buying high end tickets will think about it. How did you feel about the PCD?

Reply

madhatter March 31, 2009 at 12:24 pm

how long did the PCD perform for? about how long after the scheduled start time did britney start?

Im not really sure off hand they were on for a while though, by time everything got started I wasn’t in a condition to tell time.

Sheryl I would imagine that ticket prices vary for each location that Britney Spears plays, I would suggest checking http://www.ticketmaster.com for the current availability and pricing for the concert your considering going to.

I can’t believe that she didn’t sing! What’s the point in seeing someone live then?
Pussycat Dolls are awesome and Nicole Scherzinger is very hot!

Reply

Extreme John April 4, 2009 at 9:39 am

@Dan yeah Nicole is hot hot hot and she works her buns off in concert too, well worth it. As for Britney she is doing a good job of exposing herself as what she really is now, it’s sad.

Amanda,

Thank you for taking the time to comment. In all honesty in regards to the seating I think you will enjoy your seats wherever you are, the stage has a pretty unique setup which allows for good viewing. It is also your FIRST Britney concert, I am sure your going to have an excellent time regardless of wherever you sit. Stop back and give us your review of the concert after you go. Have fun Amanda

This performance is not really a “concert” in the true sense of the word – there is no band. It is nothing more than a burlesque – like you see in a Vegas show – mainly dance and theatrics. Close to being a striptease.

Reply

Extreme John May 15, 2009 at 11:49 am

@LAsoundmachine that is a very good point in regards to Britney Spears and her concerts. Maybe they should market the show more towards that nature and get contol of some of her wardrobe choice so she doesn’t continue to have those so famous Britney Spears Wardrobe Malfunctions and maybe everyone wouldn’t actually expect her to sing. Might even be better if she just takes a gig in Las Vegas as opposed to doing the world tour, but there is a lot more money in the tour.

Hi guys! I have ringmaster, ringside seats (not center ringside seats) to the Circus tour in Dublin. Anyone know what these love seats are like?? I read on another site that you would have to stand up to see the center stage. Anyone know if there is any truth to that??

I could see why Britney Spears might have a tough time belting it out while she’s dry humping the air for forty seconds in a row, but I mean come on, design your routine in a way that lets you still do what people pay you for.
