Burger King Better Than Disney

Burger King Whopper Bar Beer

Not everyone will share the same view that I have in regards to Burger King possibly being better than Disney, let’s face it the Magic Kingdom has a pretty massive fan base. Now don’t get me wrong I like Disney, taking the family there and getting stressed out of my mind always makes for amazing memorable moments when I look back through the pictures. I do have one issue with Disney that has plagued me for years, it’s even caused me not to go on that Disney Cruise that we always wanted to go on.

Disney doesn’t serve beer at Disney World. Sure it’s not a big deal to some of you, but it’s a big deal to me. Why is it that I can pay an adult admission at Disney yet I can’t purchase a beer as an adult? I get the whole do gooder thing that Disney has to go by, but why bother selling beer at Ebcot then? If your going to go with the no beer thing I would imagine they would do it at every one of their theme parks.

Burger King to Sell Beer

Burger King Whopper Bar

Here’s where Burger King gets the edge.. Burger King will serve beer at Whopper Bar in Miami Florida. Now if Burger King would just get a few amusement park rides I can just take the kids there, eat for a decent price and not get slammed at the gate while the kiddies enjoy the rides. Not to mention it wouldn’t be an all day affair.

What are your thoughts on Disney not serving beer or better yet what are your thoughts on how cool it will soon be to do a liquid lunch and eat grub from a $1 menu all in one place? Leave a comment, let’s hear it.

I can say from growing up in Orlando, I hate Disney and have been a million times. Whopper and a beer? Now that is FUN!

One thing about the Disney Cruise though, I went and it was a blast. The sports bar was awesome (TV’s in the table so even if you were looking down you didn’t miss anything!), plenty of beer, and the kids got dropped off with Mickey while the parents get a beeper in case there is a problem (as late as Midnight) and Disney keeps your kid busy while you lay out at the pool with a Rumrunner! Burger King ain’t got nuttin’ on DAT! :high:

@Keith, ahh see someone told me that they didn’t have any alcohol on the cruise ships. I thought that was insane, I love going to Disney. It would just be nice if I could purchase an adult beverage.

Now if Burger King would sell decent food they may be on to something. Yet, my favorite places at the beach were always those with a live band and an outdoor area in which to enjoy my $5 drink and food stuffs. I miss those days.

@Anne, I like some of their food. Their grilled chicken sandwich with some bacon and American cheese is awesome.

No condiments. :)

Hi John, you made me laugh about paying adult price and not being able to buy a beer. I can relate to that 100%, but there would be a small difference between you and me. Some of my friends and family say I’m like a child, I can mingle easier with kids and love playing games (putt-putt, games, jumping of jumping castles, building puzzles/lego, etc).

I would love to go to Disney Land one day and believe me when I say it’s on my bucket list (watch the movie if you can). I want to take my son and I know I might enjoy it more than him, lol.

I can’t comment much on Burger King as I have only been there once and that was in 2001, ages ago, I know.

@George Serradinho, I keep watching the trailer to the Bucket List on Apple Tv but for some reason haven’t seen it yet.

Nice to see you back around George.

Burger King is definitely better because I live 1/2 block from one.

Whereas, I would have to drive THROUGH LA to get to Disney Land. Or World. Or whatever. BK rocks.

Now that is thinking outside the bun. What’s better than a burger and a beer? Um nothing! Hurray for Burger King :)

I totally disagree. I don’t think Disney should serve alcohol. The Magic Kingdom is for childhood fantasies and dreams coming true, disney princesses and magical things like meeting your favorite characters.

Granted, I don’t have kids. But if/when I do, I don’t want to take them there and have them see a group of drunken college kids puking on Main Street. Or drunkenly asking Cinderella to show them her tits.

I’m not saying everyone would abuse it, but you’d have to expect some to and that would really destroy the whole atmosphere.

EPCOT is a little different. It caters to an older crowd. I’m not sure if Animal Kingdom or Typhoon Lagoon allow alcohol or not, but even those places it seems more appropriate than at Magic Kingdom.

I get the whole paying an adult admission and then being treated like a child part (totally LOLed too!) but….. the whole point of the park is to recapture the childlike sense of wonder and magic that is lost in the world.

That’s why they set up places like Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island and have amazing resorts for people to unwind at after chasing sugar-hyped up kids all day!

@Stiletto Sports Jen, do you see any of the above puking in the streets when you go to Universal Studios, Sea World, Bush Gardens? I’ve been to all of those places, which all serve beer and have yet to see a childhood dream not come true or puking kids in the streets and walk ways.

If somehow those parks can manage it, I would imagine the Magic Kingdom would be able to as well. They hand paint 20,000 mini-Mickey’s for all over the park during Christmas, they can certainly handle beer distribution. As proven by EBCOT, different or not.

i am however, all in favor of BK serving beer! guess you can’t get that through the drive through window though……

@Stiletto Sports Jen, wouldn’t be much worse if they handed out texting devices. With all of the texting drivers we might as well start allowing beer to be sold through drive thru’s.

Good idea so long as the beer isn’t terrible.

It’s not a done thing here in Oz and never will be due to liquor licensing laws but in Spain you can get beer in McDonalds. I was so excited when I saw this but the beer was that bad I never tried it again.

Extreme John January 31, 2010 at 9:16 pm

@Matt@Stretch Limo Melbourne, from what I understand the beer wil be sold in it’s original packaging from Budweiser.

Wow, so all Burger King with Whooper Bars serve beer now? No Whooper Bar here yet in the Philippines but I love their burgers and they got free wifis too so I can check this blog while I’m munching on my favorite whooper.

The only Disney park that doesn’t sell alcohol is the Magic Kingdom. All of the other Disney World theme parks and water parks sell beer.
The Whopper Bar in CityWalk at Universal Orlando doesn’t sell beer.

There seems to be a couple of problems here. Burger King is only selling flavor neutral megabrew. If you want to have a beer with flavor you have to get your burger else where. Epcot has a great selection of brew. I’ve drank myself around the world a couple of times. Then there is Universal… Ah, I have photos of me drinking tall glasses of New Castle in Jurassic Park. I’ll take Universal of Disney any day.

Burger King and beer sounds a lot more appealing to me! Have been to Disney World too and think your right that if you pay adult prices you should be able to do things that adults do (like have a drink). Really wish they would sell alcohol in fast food restaraunts in the UK, lol that will be the day! Enjoy your beer in BK!

WTF is with that.

@SafariDave, another adult point. What is the good reason behind no casino on Disney cruises? Especially with all of the special events for the kids.

@Extreme John,

Well maybe Disney thinks the cruises are for kids and the adults are their just to supervised them.
