First up this morning: LinkedIn Now Lets You Include Volunteer Experience in Your Profile. Up until now LinkedIn has not allowed users to include their volunteer information on their profiles but now that has changed. What does that mean? Well it means small business owners like me can now see just how much potential employees have contributed to their community.
Also in news this morning: Facebook Doubles Revenues in the First Half of 2011 to $1.6 Billion. We all know that Facebook makes a pretty penny but did you know that in the first half of 2011 the social media giant managed to double its revenues? Sure these numbers aren’t exact because as a privately held company Facebook has no obligation to report its earnings, but still…DOUBLE!
Next up this morning: Motivation 101 for entrepreneurs. Part of being a small business owner is staying motivated when no one else is. Not only do you have to keep yourself motivated but it is also your responsibility to keep your employees motivated too. This article covers some ways that you can remain positive and keep the momentum going in your small business, these tips include: staying positive, getting active and read motivating stories of small business owners just like you!
Last up this morning: Seasonal Branding: Creative Marketing Ideas for Fall. A huge part of maintaining a healthy business all year round is being able to market your business through all seasons. This article covers some ideas for marketing your business for the upcoming fall season by noting how some other big companies are doing it.

This morning I was happiest to read about the integration of volunteer experience in to LinkedIn profiles, it may not seem like a big deal but when it comes to hiring employees I like to know that I am hiring well rounded and involved individuals who care about their community.
