Well now that the dreaded Monday is over with it’s just another work week morning here at Extreme John and that means that it’s time for the Business Blitz again. In today’s Business Blitz we cover a projected Facebook IPO, 5 hot business blogs and more.

Hot Business News For June 14th, 2011

First up this morning the big news that has been rattling around the online business world – the Facebook IPO that is projected to top $100 billion. The IPO is expected to take place in early next year and is going to be one of the biggest IPO’s in history – just how big? This article compares it to Google’s $23 billion IPO of 2004…that’s just one quarter of the size of this upcoming IPO!

Next up this morning a featured article that should catch any business owners eye – “5 Business Blogs That Can Boost Your Bottom Line” by Elaine Pofeldt. I am always looking for new blogs to learn from and while I had heard of a couple of those recommended in Pofeldt’s article a couple were also relatively new to me. Included among those hot business blogs: Freakonomics and Lifehacker.

Another article that caught my eye this morning comes straight from the NY Times – Are You a Kind Boss? Or Kind of Boss? As a small business owner and the “boss” I often struggle just a little between making sure that I run a profitable business but also trying to be a compassionate boss who understands the needs of my employees. I found a lot of the things mentioned in this article to be true and it was nice to hear them echoed by someone else.

Last up this morning, an article from Bloomberg Businessweek in their small business tips section entitled “Spending on Ads vs. Investing in Customers.” I found this article to be intriguing because few people really compare these two things when they run a business, they see them both as necessities but they rarely find a good balance between the two. I have always been big in investing in my customers but over the years I have also begun to dabble a little more in advertising and I have to say that I think I am finally finding the right balance.

Parting Shots

Of this morning’s articles my favorite has to be the 5 Business Blogs article because to be honest I am something of a blog reading junkie. Anything I can read to help me to improve my business I will read and so far after skimming through these recommended blogs I have already made a few too many notes!

The article from your reviewed, which attracted me most is “5 Business Blogs That Can Boost Your Bottom Line”.

I am working on blogs now a days. But I was working on free blog hosting websites to develop seo circles. But I think that these business blogs will also affect me.

I think everybody knows that how fast Facebook has grown in the past few years & how popular they are now so they can do a $100 billion IPO…thats not a big deal for them..

If you create a friendly environment in your business and also make your employees happy than definitely everything will be cool and your business will also succeed with profits..

I also agree in that there should be a balance between both because both are necessities of business thus taking both together would be fruitful.
