Hot Business News For October 21, 2011

First up this morning: Why Content Marketing Is King. I have worked in a number of businesses in my lifetime but the one thing that I have always been found to be true is that content marketing is king. This article covers just what content marketing means and how much numerous companies invest in their content marketing campaigns.

Also in news this morning: 9 Reasons People Don’t Do What They Are Supposed To Do. I had to cover this article this morning because it just caught my attention because no matter whether it’s business or pleasure there is always going to be someone who doesn’t do what they are supposed to and I was curious to see some of the reasons listed in this article and the suggested “fixes”. So what are they? They include: He is unable to change his habits,She misunderstands the nature and scope of her work and She lacks discernment.

Next up this morning: How To Spark Innovation And Creativity In The Workplace. One of the biggest ways to keep customers coming back for more in my line of work is to come up with creative ideas to market products and services so whenever I come across an article on sparking creativity I am interested in checking it out. So what does this article have to say?  Take a look and see for yourself!

Last up this morning: How To Manage A Crisis. No matter what business you work in there are always opportunities for crisis to arise. This article covers some ideas on how to manage crisis including: Don’t keep people in the dark, Don’t micromanage and Be the first to sacrifice.

Final Thoughts

My favorite article this morning was the article on why people don’t do what people are supposed to do. I found this article pretty interesting because very few people think logically about why people aren’t doing what they should be doing and this really puts things in to a new perspective.

Initially I try to understand why that person has not done what he should do.
If the wrong attitude continues, the only way is dismissal, to prevent damage to all the other people who work for the company

I would argue that the reasons people dont do what they are supposed to in the workplace and at home are very different. I think with personal projects at home the only real excuse is lazyness (but as someone who lives alone and has some time each day with no family to look after I might be looking at thiw with blinkered vision!)

I completely agree with you that content marketing is king. I’ve built up an offline business fast and inexpensively by simply blogging about what my prospective customers want to know about. It’s a ton of fun as well because I like writing and sharing useful info for people. It’s a no-brainer and it’s here to stay (people always want free info).

I will to talk to my employee make him/her understand that every actions he/she does affects other people who are also working for the same company/ business. Anyway, my favorite article in this list is “How To Manage A Crisis”, Crisis arise in any business or undertakings. Instead of treating it as a threat consider this as a great opportunity for you to show your leadership and ability to manege crisis.
