Carter came to Visit

by Extreme John on May 15, 2009 |

A couple of weekends ago we had a visitor stop by, or better yet I guess I should say that Kennedy and Reagan had a visitor. Carter their brother who was unable to stay with us because him and his other brother Abe couldn’t stop fighting. Carter has always gotten along very well with Reagan and Kennedy, all though Kennedy gives him the third degree when he first gets to the house.

Carter, Kennedy and Reagan

Bulldogs are not known for being very good swimmers and are more known for sinking to the bottom of the pool if they fall in. Since we have an in ground pool and our two bulldogs are forever running around it and chasing each other I have decided to try and get them to swim. I really have not put a ton of time in to teaching them, but Carter and Reagan can keep themselves up for about half the distance of the pool, I have not tried getting them to swim any further than that. Kennedy on the other hand instantly runs inside when anyone goes in the pool, she started doing this after she had slipped into the jaccuzzi a few months ago.

While I was playing around with Reagan and Carter in the pool, Lisa decided to shoot a few short video clips of the bulldogs in the pool… or at least trying to get in the pool. I took all of the videos that Lisa took and combined them together in the video below, to be completely honest it really is not the most exciting bulldogs swimming video thats out there. Next time Carter comes over to visit and I take them into the pool we will use a regular camera and actually get them swimming for all of those bulldog owners that think they can’t teach their bulldogs how to swim.

@Julie haha thank you. If all four of them could get along that would be a good picture too, probably better left the way that it is. Abe is super cute too. Thank you for commenting.

How about me placing you on our Bulldog registry as a foster parent for when we bust puppy mill camps and need good people to care for the abused Bulldogs? I think you would be a great foster parent!
Thanks

@A Sage, as much as I love that idea and hate to say no about anything it probably wouldn’t be a great decision. The two chubbies we have now keep us pretty busy, and man can they stomp a backyard. I just said to Lisa the other night, could you imagine if we still had all four of them? They were just ripping through the house, crazy I tell ya.

Thank you so much, if we did not already have two there would be no chance of me passing on this. Thank you.
