Sleepy English Bulldog Puppy

I have posted a few funny pictures and a few funny videos of Kennedy our English Bulldog Puppy, but I haven’t posted any updated videos of Reagan. Reagan is a lot like Kennedy as in they both have a ton of personality and do some weird things, probably one of my favorite things about the breed.

Kennedy and Reagan are constantly doing something hysterical and can easily put a smile on your face, even at the worst times (like Kennedy mud bogging). This video is a very short video clip of Reagan, one night he decided to rest his head on His Aunt’s Laptop and fall asleep. Usually Reagan sits in one spot and falls asleep standing up, it’s pretty funny looking because it’s as if he just refuses to lay down. Either way here’s a short video of our English Bulldog Puppy Reagan.

Bulldog fights herself

It’s the Wednesday before Turkey Day (gobble gobble) and much like the rest of the world I am getting ready for the big feeding and a day of Football with the Family. Instead of posting my Grandma’s favorite recipes or whats on the menu for tomorrow I figured I would spare you the boredum and post a funny video of our English Bulldog Kennedy.

This is a video I filmed one day when I was standing in the kitchen and I heard what sounded like Reagan and Kennedy fighting, they fight often so I walked in there to see what the issue was. When I walked into the room I noticed it was Kennedy by herself growling and barking at herself. I wish I had the video camera ready the day before when she faced a corner and growled and got pissed off for about 10 minutes before she realized there was no one there except her. She’s a little on the loopy side to say the least, anyway enjoy the video and I will see you tomorrow.

The Bulldog shake

Kennedy has been doing this weird thing lately where it looks like she is either wanting to itch her ears and cant reach or get balanced to do it or where it looks like she is itching her ass. It always cracks me up and ive been wanting to get a video of it, all though this video doesnt show how persistent she is with the little ass shake motion. I think it’s safe to say Kennedy doesn’t like the camera that much, but once she gets closer to the sliding glass door she gets into the rocking motion pretty good.

For the new readers of the Extreme John blog this is our female Bulldog Kennedy she is a little over 8 months at this point and getting bigger by the second. I need to shoot some more videos of Kennedy she has a weird personality and she’s a super bitch, it’s her way or no way. Her and Reagan also do this thing where they lay on their backs and gobble like Turkey’s at each other, kinda like two alien puppies talking in some other language.

Mud Bogging Bulldog

About a week ago I wrote a blug post called “Dirty Little Bulldog” which featured our soon to be 7 month old bulldog covered in mud from here digging the water out of a hole in the backyard…. That the Bulldog puppies made to begin with.

bulldog muddy

Nothing like a muddy puppy surprise.

I was just getting ready to take my son to Karate I found Reagan right off the bat, he was in the home office kickin it on Abe’s blanket destroying my push up handles. I couldn’t find Kennedy right away and usually with her that means she is destroying something like a flip flop or maybe a sneaker or trash can. I opened the slider and called Kennedy I heard her name tag jingle and I knew she was on the way, I figured sweet both of them right in their crate no sweat. Than this is what walked up to the back door.

Tired Jets Fans

Here is a quick post to show you some of the excitement I was able to experience on Sunday with the little terrors Kennedy and Reagan. When we had all four Bulldog Puppies it was pretty much immposible to put any type of clothing on any of them, they would just rip it off. We tried it again when we only had King Abe, Kennedy and Reagan but the same thing would happen, Abe didn’t like anyone looking more fly than him so he would rip their gear off. Now that we only have Kennedy and reagan I figured it would be a good idea to try and get the beasts to wear some Jets gear during the Jets vs Bills game on Sunday. I grabbed them while they were tired and slapped the Jets shirts on, they got up and did their normal thing but didn’t care about the shirts at all.

Kennedy layed out by the front door

After a day of running around in the shirts and watching the Jets hand a beatdown to the Buffalo Bills the little mutts were tired. Here’s a few pictures I took of them while they were crashed out, still staying trooppers after the game with their Jets gear on. They represent.

Since Kennedy took Reagan’s spot he did the Kitchen thang

Today sucked

12th October 2008 in English Bulldogs, Life | Comments (1) | 65 views

Today sucked. As you know for the last few weeks we have been dealing with Abe and Reagan fighting and typically Abe kicking the shit out of Reagan. Over the last 3 weeks everyone including my son and my daughter seems to have been involved somehow and ended up with a scratch or a cut or something and it seemed to get worse each time.

Last week I decided to call Glenn from All American Dog Training and see what his opinion was on the situation between Reagan and Abe. After we spoke for a little bit we set up an appointment for Dave our original trainer who has worked with all four of the dogs from day one, come out. Dave showed up and had some great ideas which seemed to take the edge off, they were demanding in regards to time but they seemed to work.

We were able to stop a few battles from breaking out and get everyone under control before things got out of hand, again time demanding like watching 3 Toddlers walk around a house with broken glass. Haha. On Saturday my son woke me up and said he could hear the dogs fighting through his window so I jumped out of bed and headed outside, long story short Abe really beat Reagan down pretty good. The rest of the day was pretty layed back with Reagan resting in his cage and Abe doing the same, I figured I would take Abe for a few walks to take some of his extra energy out. I walked him three times that day and he seemed to be pretty tired as well I figured if he were going to give Reagan a hard time he wouldn’t have much energy. Later that night after one of my walks with Abe I was going through a training excercise with Abe and Reagan, everything seemed to go fine than right at the end of it as I went to get up Abe lashed out at Reagan again, thanks to his leed I was able to snatch him away from Reagan and stop the fight not to mention Reagan hardly seemed ready to do battle after his morning events.

Sunday came and it was much like Saturday where Abe would constantly be all over Reagan, watching them is one thing but at this point you really couldn’t let Abe near Reagan because he would make an agressive move or go after Reagan. Lisa and I talked for a little while about it and our good friend James came by (no not the guy I wrote about last week) and we started talking about it, we decided that with the kids and with how difficult and time consuming watching Abe had become and was going to be moving forward caused us to make the decision to let James be the new home for Abe after James was nice enough to offer. This sucks, sucks worse than the last one because Abe is so much more a part of the family, the kids were crushed, Lisa was crushed and since Abe was my pick and my favorite of all of the dogs I am crushed too.

James came to pick up Abe around 1pm, stayed watched some Football and than “King Abe” left, if there were a place to send Abe, Reagan and Kennedy that could gaurantee that they wouldn’t get into such nasty brawls I would send them there. Between having kids and business’s it doesn’t give me the constant time it feels that is needed to stand and watch all of them to make sure they live in Harmony and don’t brawl, I get last minute calls that require me to leave the house which could put my family in danger if I didn’t put the dog’s in their cage before I left. I want respectful dogs that won’t put extra stress and possible danger onto the family regardless if I am around or not, I wish I had the time to figure out a way to get them to get along, because this alternative sucks.

Dirty Little Bulldog

I usually try to keep my blog posts about English Bulldogs to a minimum so everyone doesn’t get all bent, but today I had to post this picture of a Dirty Little Bulldog named Kennedy. Kennedy is our only female Bulldog Puppy and she is going on 7 months old, Kennedy is the “Brat” in the group, she demands attention by doing things like climbing across my shoulders like a mink stal to chasing your ankles when your walking. Kennedy is also the one most likely to make a mess, if it’s not shredding some toilet paper or some tissues it’s digging a quick hole in the yard before bed time.

kennedy_dirty_01.JPG

This picture of Kennedy our 7 Month old English Bulldog was taken after it got done raining, about a month ago on a group effort Reagen, Abe and Kennedy dug a hole in the backyard right down to the irrigation  system. Take one big hole and a bunch of rain you have a deep puddle, I walked outside to the sound of water but it wasn’t raining so I walked towards the pool equipment where I found Kennedy working dilligently at removing the water from the hole…. And no she wasn’t using any special tools as you can see.

Come on Abe!

This won’t be one of my long ass boring blog posts, instead it will be a short ass boring blog post. Here’s the deal kiddies, im fucking pissed.

As most of you know we purchased four English Bulldogs about 7 months ago and pretty much as soon as we got them we sent them off to training. We thought it was important to get them Off Leash training as well as basic house breaking and behavioral training as well. Somewhere along the way Carter and Abe (two males) started fighting over jealousy and small control issues, in short Abe wants the most attention and Abe has to be the King of everything. None of this is a surprise, I started calling Abe “King Abe” almost immediately because he had that leadership look to him and to be honest he had that Swagger ;)

Abe and Carter went back to the Dog Trainers to get some additional training to deal with the fighting. After two additional weeks of training and being away at the dog trainers we received a phone call that Carter and Abe just were not going to be able to live together and they would always have this fighting issue.

Here I am a couple of months later and guess what? Not only does Abe have no problem fighting with Kennedy but he will go out of his way to attack or start trouble with Reagen, all of which Reagen seems to tolerate for a second, however he is now also tired of Abe’s shit. Abe is a bad ass there’s no doubt about it, he has done a pretty good job marking up Kennedy’s legs and as for poor calm Reagen he is now constantly in what I call a state of Depression, he no longer hangs around with Kennedy because Abe is usually there and he no longer hangs out with or even near Abe because he doesn’t feel like getting his ass kicked. Last night Abe started with Reagen 3 minutes before their bed time, they were all sleeping and when we called them to go outside and go to the bathroom of course none of them wanted to get up and go so Lisa put a leash on Reagen and before she could even get Reagen to follow her Abe had started with Reagen.

Breaking up this fight with Reagen and Abe sucked complete ass, they are much bigger now than when Abe and Carter use to fight and their intentions are much more agressive and the fighting much more violent. Abe had such a good hold of Reagens paw that I could not get him to release it, not even pulling directly on the skin on the back of his neck like his mother would do if he were a puppy. Abe shook Reagens paw viciously and I was finally able to get Abe to release Reagen, Regan wasn’t crying or fighting back as much as he was outright “screaming” I could see the horror in Reagens eyes when Abe wouldn’t let go and as I attempted to break them up his screams would grow louder. This situation sucks and I don’t want to hear that now I have to give up another dog, I called a good friend of mine last night to see if I could find Abe a good home but when I woke up this morning I realized that wasn’t going to work for me.  Why can’t Abe just stop being an asshole.

English Bulldogs at 6 Months Old

It’s been a while since I have posted some new pictures of all of the puppies and I am almost sure it was before Kennedy went back to All American Dog Training Academy for another round of training. I didn’t have anything exciting to yap about today so why not throw some bulldog pictures up.

Ladies first - Six Month Old Female English Bulldog Kennedy 35lbs (give or take)

Reagen - Six Month Old Male English Bulldog 31lbs

The Leader of the Pack - “King” Abe - Six Month Old Male English Bulldog 38-40lbs

I really need to stop wasting my time video taping all the BS stuff and take a few video’s of these guys, when it comes to entertainment they are non stop. If they aren’t play fighting they will gladly spend the time real fighting over an ice cube or a rock or whatever else they think is important.

Kennedy jumps on the couch now so she can go to a nap, somehow she claimed it as “her spot”. Abe has the funniest bark you have ever heard in your life and Reagan is the little “Brain” of the group, he knows what time it is and when he should start moving in a certain direction, he watches everything constantly, almost as if he’s saving up the info for later. Kennedy is an early bird, she likes to hit the sack around 8:45 which is way to early for us, but when Kennedy has had enough, she heads to her cage and tucks herself in for the night. Abe is still the dominate kid and will go out of his way to taunt Kennedy and Reagan with any item he might have. They all love to DIG and it’s a pain in the ass, but still cute as shit… They recently dug  nice size hole right down to the sprinkler system, hey at least they get the job done. All of the puppies like to take stuff out of the house and run outside with it, recently Abe built up a nice collection of Brendon’s socks on the side of the house… He’s like a sniper!

Hope you enjoyed the pooch pics.

Bulldogs Love Football Too

Those of you that haven’t been reading my blog long enough to know that I am a HUGE football fan and a HUGE Jets fan to go along with it. Yeah yeah I know previous years have been a little rough and “click click pull” has gone through my head a few times, but we have Brett Favre now and that changes everything. Maybe it doesn’t change everything but it’s like my dreams of seeing one more Tyson knock out or one more Ken Shamrock win (hopefully against Kimbo in October) it keeps the real hurt tucked away somewhere deep.

Enough of the yap yap it’s on to the business at hand, it’s Football season and to kick things off Abe decided to agree to a couple of pictures for “His Fans” as he puts it. The first picture was snapped while Abe got ready for some recliner time and as usual he said, “No pictures!”, than as I went to walk away he said, “O.K just this one.” Thanks Abe and don’t sweat it I ordered some shirts from NFLShop.com so Abe will have one that fits a little better any day now.
