Moving right along with my typical self I have now decided that I want a three column blog design instead of a two column blog design. As I get more and more addicted to blogging, and by addicted I mean constantly reading and commenting on others blogs and constantly looking at mine to see what I can do differently. Not the worst addiction in the world, I guess I could be addicted to sniffing glue or some silly shit like that.

Thanks to Shage and MS (RssBuilders) back in the day, I decided to transform my site from a basic html site to a Blog instead, now as I work on it more and more I see more things I want to add. “Who visited”, a “Chat Box” or “Highest Rated” and whatever other little things I can find to chuck my email address into and try on here. Problem Im finding now is that I feel like I need three columns.

Since Ive got my fair share of issues typically when I start to think about shit like this it stays on my mind until I just give in and make the change. This presents a few problems, first being that I just had this blog design done and as much as I didn’t like the original version of it, the new version that Lace did has grown on me. Let’s not forget that hiring an outside designer is pretty much a fuckin joke, we have yet to have any luck with an outside designer when it comes to doing Blog or normal site designs. This just compounds my problem because now I have two websites I want re-done with no solid outside designer to do it. Looks like the re-design of Extreme Tan and Smoothies will continue to wait and it looks like I will live with two columns for now and you will just have to scroll down further on the right to see what silly shit I add to the page.

About a month ago Lace asked me to post some pictures of the car I got to replace my 2006 Mercedes SL55 AMG, and even though Lace has already seen it I figured I would post some pictures anyway. Im sure there are some of you wondering why I would get a car that looks somewhat like my previous car and there are others that will clearly see why. Fact of the matter is the Mercedes Sl63 AMG is the Best car I have ever driven in my life, I like black cars and well prior to the Mercedes SL63 the Mercedes SL55 was my favorite car. I ended up getting this towards the end of October when my Lease was up on my other Mercedes.

Now that the Holidays have quickly blown by, and much like the year 2008 has for me it’s time to move forward and get ready for the New Years Eve Party mayhem and celebration that wraps up the Holiday season. Every year in the past I use to write this long ass post and reflect on all of the things from the years past, people always seem to like it.  Problem is I just got done writing The Good, The Bad and The REAL Ugly review to close out the year and Im not sure I feel like getting into another million mile post.

I decided that instead of writing this really long ass boring year in review for 2008 in regards to my personal life I would just post a video blog,Im not big about the video blog or being on video so I abandoned that idea and here I sit ready to write, probably some boring ass thing.. Ya know 2008 flew by and along with that might very well be the order of memories that should be drilled into my head from 2008. It was only a short year ago when Rage was all the Rage and the kid from Ohio along with some Sarcastic (Msacras) fuck did the building they promised with RSS Builders. Is was right around this same time that Extreme Tan and Smoothies took it’s very first step in a new and right direction, with true direction. As Rage continued to be all the Rage and the Original Extreme began to take steps in a Madonna like comeback direction it seemed 2008 was going to be a year of odd things to come back definitely good things to come. Life takes you down many different paths for many different reasons and Florida Honnies was one of those experiences, it took me down a path where I met good people like Topp and Goody, and got reacquainted with some good people like Lola (JB) that I hadn’t seen in forever. The experience also made me pay close attention and showed me just how fucking immature people can really be, and it’s usually the assholes that wanna scream about how mature they are.

I would say that your looking at it but that wouldn’t be totally true. You see the design your looking at isn’t actually the finished design, you might ask why it’s not the finished design so I will elaborate. The design you are looking at is the old version with the fat lips toon of me with no closing toon on the bottom of the design like there should be. I ended up getting to a point with the designer where I couldn’t be bothered waiting for the never ending story to come to an end so I decided to just request to have the shit sent to me and we would do something with it…. Just what I fuckin thought I would have to do when I paid in full for the design on October 15th.

You see, back on October 15, 2008 I contacted Zuzana Designs in regards to having the EJ Blog re-done, along with a couple of new EJ toons as well. Back when I spoke with Zuzana she was very clear in saying that it would take a few weeks before the toon designer would have my toons done because he had two toons in front of me. Here is the actual quote from the conversation “Do you need an invoice as well .. I have to pay the toonist up front and he has 2 toons ahead of you as well, so it may be a few weeks till the toon is ready“.

Now no big deal right, a few would be about three weeks before completion one would think. Now as I sit here and write on December 23rd I find myself trying to figure out how many “a few” is. I also find myself still looking for a new Blog design and a Designer to do it. Im not sure I will leave this up longer than today because it’s not complete as it sits and my OCD would make me snap and erase the site at some point. The complete version of this design would have had a version of my cartoon up top with SMALLER Lips, and another version of a toon down at the bottom that had EJ standing with a couple of cartoon girls and the Insane Limos Pink H2.

I have always been a huge fan of the “Year in Review” type shows and specials that you find out around this time of year, even though I suck and usually miss every single one that I want to see. It would be so nice if someone sent me a list of the shows and when they would be on so I could sit and set them up in the DVR. The perfect personal assistant task. Anyway back on topic, I figured since this is the first year I really committed to doing my blog and write about a bunch of the different companies I have had the pleasure to work with I figured I would write a “Year in Review” just to recap the different business’s I have dealt with. Keep in mind people these are based on my personal experiences with these companies and nothing more, simply my opinion on the levels of service and overall quality of the job they were doing for me.

The Good will consist of Small and Large Business’s that I have hired throughout the year that had excellent customer service and had excellent results overall. The Bad will consist of the Small Business Companies/Owners that were not Great and were not terrible, they simply were Bad in my opinion for one reason or another. The REAL UGLY will include Small Business and Large Business’s that simply offered terrible customer service along with a terrible end result to the quality of their product or service they were hired for. I will make this three different posts in order to not bore you with 15 pages of Business Reviews.

THE GOOD

LA Custom Coach, Inc. - 415-672-1981
Very simply put as Dan from Mammoth Transportation told me, “The best there is, no one is better.” I could not be happier about our decision not to go with Big-Limos as our Limo Coach Builder. Working with Phil from LA Custom Coach has been one of the best business relationships I have had in a long long time. It’s not very often you can tell someone or a company to just build something however they want, with Phil you can do just that and you will get something amazing in the end. Just check out Insane Limos to see exactly what I mean. I have a true passion for cars and if I had an endless bank account I don’t think I would ever stop letting Phil send us new masterpieces. Tell’em EJ sent ya, and don’t copy my rides.

Blacc Wolf -
Two of the hardest working, class acts I have had the chance to work with are Topp and Young Goody of Blacc Wolf. Given a very odd job than what they are use to doing Topp and Young Goody delivered 10 fold with a sweet ass album and some tracks that just won’t get out of your head, you can hear a few of them on my MySpace. Topp and Goody are old school when it comes to business, your word, your honor and respect.. Ya Digg. More than just great guys to do business with!

Ahhh there’s a lot of things to be said here but I will try to keep it short. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Knowledge, Knowledge at all levels. If I could learn everything I would. I will be the first to say Im not one of those types that had a huge belief in using a dog training company, nor did I think it would make any real difference in a Puppy being a Puppy. With both of those things said I will say that our specific trainer Dave has more knowledge about dealing with puppies and training than I could have ever imagined, if there is an issue Dave pretty much has a remedy. It doesn’t stop with Dave either, Dan who also worked with our little beasts was a complete pleasure to work with along with Glenn the owner who went out of their way to help with any of the situations we had with any of our puppies. Always ready to go at a moments notice and always ready to keep things going at any of the Extreme events or parties. Chris does his thing all over Tampa Bay as one of the most popular DJ’s in the area and is featured at places like Floyd’s in the Seminole Hard Rock and The Dirty Martini in Clearwater.

I have had a few mixed communication situations with Nice, Green and Beautiful however it does not over shadow the excellent service we constantly receive from the Office Staff, our Lawn tech and a Sales Associate named Mark H. who went above and beyond a few times this year to make sure anything we needed done was done quickly.

I have been using Half Price Hauling for as long as we have lived in our house, Joe the owner offers a service that is good more often than you would think. Joe has hauled everything from Huge Ice Cream Freezers to Boxes and anything else you can think of for us. He always comes the same day, his service is excellent and his prices are more than reasonable.

This company was hired for my Daughters Birthday and the kids loved the Magic show, perfectly on time, excellent price point and does some stuff with live Birds that will blow anyone away.

I have not had great luck with Electricians or most other Contractors through the last year but Perfection Electric stands out as excellent amongst so many clowns. Always on time, always work neat and clean and even when I think I am calling after hours to leave a message the owner answers. Excellent service doesn’t justify how excellent Perfection Electric is.

A good friend of ours that owns a Pet Store called Pet Safari in Clearwater Florida introduced us to the Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation people just before my sons Birthday in April. We decided to have them come out for my Sons Birthday and bring a Tiger, they not only brought one Tiger, instead they brought 2 tigers, an Alligator and a Huge Turtle. The kids and everyone enjoyed it so much we had them come back out and do our Daughters Birthday and they brought a Bear and a Monkey. Good service, Great Cause, No brainer.

I wasn’t sure about this company when I first moved into the house and used them, but over the years I have become pretty happy with 1st Class Pressure Cleanings service, as they advertise “They Do Show Up” which is a lot more than I can say for so many other companies. They show up, do a good job and charge fairly.

We had Chantilly Cakes do custom designed cakes for our Daughters Birthday Party as well as my Sons Birthday Party. For the the little girl it was Hannah Montana and for my Son it was an Eminem cake. The cakes were excellent, the quality and design were also excellent.

Blue Diamond is a unique service that comes to your home and takes care of all your Blue Diamonds left behind by your pets. All though we haven’t been using them for the entire year, their billing, service and scheduling makes them worthy of the “Good”.

Posting The Good is always a good feeling but sadly in a list of who’s who or not so much who’s who there has to be a few that don’t make the cut for EJ. Over the next couple of days look for Part II and Part III of The Good, The Bad and The REAL Ugly and be sure to leave your comments.
