Community Coffee Carnivale Cake Review

by Extreme John on September 28, 2009 |

I know it’s not everyday that you jump on to my blog expecting to see a coffee review, but hey there’s no rules here I can blog about great tasting coffee and review the latest coffee products if I feel like it. I enjoyed my first experience with Community Coffees Cinnamon Roll a couple of weeks ago and have had my eye on a few of the other products from Community Coffee that I wanted to try, Carnivale Cake was the first one on my list.

Before I get the review underway I will say that I am really becoming quite the amateur (very amateur) coffee drinker, I would also like to add that if this continues I might need a coffee abuse program because my coffee intake is at least 4x what it was before I started trying flavored coffee’s. As a matter of fact I’m such an amateur pro that I had to run to Bed Bath & Beyond (shut it!) and grab one of those GIANT COFFEE CUPS that they sell, and trust me… it’s giant.

As soon as the Carnivale Cake was in my hands there really wasn’t going to be anything that came before brewing a cup of coffee, prioritizing is important and if there’s new coffee in the house it needs to be tried. Once I started brewing Carnivale Cake it filled the house with a nice aroma, it somewhat reminded me of what a “German Chocolate Cake” coffee would smell like during the brewing process. The aroma was not as mind blowing to me as the Cinnamon Roll Community Coffee I tried a couple of weeks ago, but it was still very good.

The overall taste of Carnivale Cake also reminded me of a German Chocolate Cake flavored coffee with a much more smooth delivery, I also enjoyed how Carnivale Cake had a creamy taste to go with how smooth the coffee was. When I decided to try this coffee I decided to pick up two bags instead of one, the name was catchy enough and sounded like a treat I would want to enjoy more than once. Good move on my part, because Carnivale Cake provides an excellent taste without a ton of sugar or creamer to make it smooth.

I have now stepped up my coffee drinking game and started to follow Community Coffee on Twitter so that I could stay up to date with any special offers they might have coming out, you can follow @communitycoffee on twitter or register for free coffee coupons. Right now you can save $.50 on any red bag of community coffee that you buy from the Community Coffee online store.

As always you know I appreciate it when you take the time to leave a comment and let me know what your thoughts are, if you have tried Carnivale Cake from Community Coffee take a moment to tell us what you thought about it. I will be doing more Community Coffee reviews this week, you might want to subscribe to my rss feed to see the latest coffee and product reviews as soon as they are released.

I really enjoyed that coffee, it wasn’t like any other flavored coffee that I’ve had. Plus, it was really easy to drink.

Big fan of Catahoula Coffee in Richmond California myself.

Especially Timber’s “Butkus Blend.” If you like it deep, rich, dark and very, very strong, look ‘em up and have Timber ship you a pound of fresh roast. Tell ‘em Dave from El Cerrito recommended. (Addicted, not affiliated!)

@Dave Doolin, Im not really big on the really strong coffee’s, I don’t think Brutus will be my kind of thing. I really typically like the milk and sugar part of coffee but the Community Coffee flavored coffee’s have given me a new outlook on coffee.

@Extreme John,

Heh… yep… most of the San Fran area locally roasted coffee will put hair on your chest.

But it’s really, really smooth if you put a little raw honey and heavy (whipping) cream in it.

If you ever make it out here, try Philz Coffee… it’s everything you say you don’t like… but you only live once, right?

You don’t strike me as a flavored coffee guy John. I see you running your empire with your giant cup of strong, black blend like a dark roast, no cream or sugar for the Extreme One. Maybe something like what Dave Doolin recommended, that “Butkus” blend, now that sounds like a real man’s coffee!

Just givin ya a hard time on a Monday here John but you should have a line of Extreme John products and it just so happens I can help you out with that. Start with coffee cups that have your Hummer Limo on them to promote your Limo biz. Then maybe do an Extreme John logo on coffee mugs as prizes for your top commenters or just sell them online.

@Dick, I don’t think the line of Extreme John products will really be a big hit, all though I like the idea. Haha.

John,
I just received my first coffee club delivery from Community Coffee, which I joined after brewing and tasting my first of many cups of Cinnamon Roll blend. I am currently enjoying my first cup of Pecan Praline, it’s like sipping on a slice of pecan pie (I love pecan pie). Thank you for introducing me to Community Coffee and keep the reviews coming.

Steve

@sritt@amberchildsafety.com, I am happy to see that your trying out some of the Community Coffee’s I have reviewed, well in this case I haven’t actually reviewed Pecan Praline.

It is on deck though for Wednesday night if I remember correctly. Thank you for taking the time to give Community Coffee a try.

I have seen all kinds of fundraising – from magazines to other things that I buy to make the neighbor kids feel happy. How about coffee – something I can really use;)
