Dancing with the Stars Week 1 review

Holly Madison Dancing with the Stars

I am a fan of Dancing with the Stars, it took me a few seasons of watching pieces here and there to decide that it was a show I didn’t mind watching. it also helps that Dancing with the Stars always has some very hot celebrities on the show. I don’t even think I have ever written about Dancing with the Stars before but I figured I might watch the entire season and it would give me something to yelp about on here when I don’t have anything going on.

Rapper Little Kim and Derek Hough
I thought their performance was pretty flat and I also thought that Little Kim looked a little stiff to me, however the first and second and third  judge didn’t agree with me.

Belinda Carlisle and Johnathan Roberts
Dancing the walse is not something I will ever rave about but I will give credit where credit is due, Belinda Carlisles foot movement and the way she danced was very clean.

Edyta Sliwinski and Lawrence Taylor
Ya know I have to be rooting for this team, I have mad respect for Lawrence Taylor and Edyta is hot hot hot with a touch of screamin hot body. Ok now that the dance has started I have to say Lawrence Taylor looks miserably nervous and beyond stiff. I guess it’s a good thing it’s only week 1 of Dancing with the Stars. The crowd seems to like the team and the performance but Im not sure the judges will agree. Total Judges score of 16

Lacey Schwimmer and Steve O from Jackass
Lacey has a good personality and ya know I have to be leaning towards Steve O as well, there’s a lot of teams I like this season but this team is one of my more favorite.  They are dancing the walse and I have to be honest here, just watching Steve O dance is cracking me up. Steve O and Lacey did really well in my opinion and they even managed to throw some humor into the contest, not that I would expect anything less. The crowd is going crazy, however the first judge wasn’t a big fan of the technical moves and that seems to be the general feeling of the judges. Total Judges Score 17

Cheryl Burke and Gilles Marini
This team seems to be serious business and Cheryl Burke helps pull the action in this dance and Gilles Marini doesn’t seem as if this is his first time out doing this. Total Judges Score 24 which is the highest score so far tonight.

Julianne Hough and Chuck Wicks
Any guy that likes hot blonde chicks will like Julianne Hough, being a HUGE fan of blondes you can add Julianne Hough to the list. I hate her outfit for this dance which is The Walse, one of my most least favorite dances. Their dance is very clean and it looks like Julianne has spent a good amount of time teaching Chuck Wicks how to dance. This couple is going to be another tough one to beat. Total Judges Score 20 which lands them in second place.

Holly Madison and Dmitry Chaplin
Nancy Odell is being replaced by Playboy Playmate Holiday Madison, Holly and Dmitry are dancing to Lady Gaga. Holly Madison only had five days to practice for this dance and I think overall it was pretty good, I think with more practice Holly will be pretty good, Im not sure she will be good enough to win it but good enough to go on another week. Total Judges Score 18

Chelsie Hightower and Ty Murray
Dancing the Cha Cha Cha and wearing some bright yellow dress and some rodeo looking shirt with a yellow stripe. It’s very clear with this couple that Chelsie Hightower is the one who will keep eyes on her and off of Ty Murray which is a good thing because the girl can dance. Total Judges Score 14 which puts this team in a place where Ty Murray will have to step up his game or he will be done.

Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas
I would have really liked to see Shawn Johnson dancing something with a lot more intensity and excitment than the walse was able to provide. I think overall they did pretty good, I thought for sure that Shawn Johnson was going to laugh during the performance but she kept it together. Total Judges Score of 23 which lands them in second place.

Karina Smirnoff and Steve Wozniak
I think Steve might have a tough time with some of the dances he might have to do on Dancing with the Stars, for instance today he has to dance the Cha Cha Cha. Steve is a heavy set guy, he is lucky that his partner Karina is wearing one of the hottest dance costums anyone could wear. She makes it tought for you to see the misques of Steve and I couldn’t be happier about it. Total Judges Score 13

Kym Johnson and David Alan Grier
Holy crap does Kym Johnson have one kick ass body! It will be safe to say I wont be looking at any part of this dance except for what Kym’s doing. I thought they actually had an excellent dance set and Im curious to see what the judges think about it. Total Judges Score 19

Denise Richards and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
As Im watching this dance I really can’t help but feel like something just isn’t right, Im not sure if it’s that fact that Denise Richards has so many clothes on or the fact that she seems to move really weird when she dances. Total Judges Score 18

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani
For someone that only started practicing on Saturday Melissa Rycroft looked way better than that, she brought on a standing ovation and the Total Judges Score of 23

The show was pretty much exactly what I thought it would be with maybe a few exceptions, the professional dancers have a lot of work to do with the celebrities they are working with. I will be interested to see how the next episode goes.
