Disney, will I ever learn

Most of you know I am not a patient person by any means, but I love to do stuff with and for the kids, it’s one of the real joys in my life even though it seems to cause me pain. By pain I don’t mean physical pain and I am solely targeting emotional pain, and I will get into that more in a little bit.

As a kid I loved Disney and I think by the time I was 18 I had been to Disney about 15 times, I know it sounds excessive but my parts were over doers with the kids which is probably exactly where I got it from. People will criticize and say we spoil the kids and we make their life too easy and those people are probbly right, right or not it’s honestly no one else’s business what we want to do for the kids. I am a firm believer that we are creating memories they will never forget and will hopefully work hard to do for my Grand Kids one day. As for Disney and being there so many times as a kid as I grew up I really had no urge or interest to go to Disney myself, but I do love taking the kids there like I said.

One thing I have come to realize about Disney is that in all honesty the place and the history of Disney is great there’s no doubt about it or the feeling it gives kids when they see Mickey at Walt Disney World in Florida. However the place is a Giant pain in the ass and I can’t imagine it ever getting any better. It’s Disney and it’s huge, and of world famous, it’s also way too damn crowded. If you have young kids and want to go on the simple rides, your screwed and standing in line most of the day because there’s so many young kids at Disney it isnt even funny. You would think Disney already knows this and instead of having one Merry go Round they might have a couple, I mean gimme a break it’s a Merry Go Round at Disney I dont give a crap how big it is, it’s not big enough to keep the line to a minimum.

Now if you move into the next age group you have middle age kids or even young adults, everyone loves Disney and regardless of the age and ride you want to go on it’s safe to say your going to wait. If your an adult and looking to go on one of the killer rides like Space Mountain than you might as well grab their Fast Pass which gives you a window of time to go back to the ride and get right on. I like the theory behind the Fast Pass but Disney’s is anything but fast, if anything it gives you a chance to wonder around and pick up more Fast Pass Tickets to go back to other rides later. Be real Disney, your the largest park in the world, come up with a better system for your guests with the Fast Pass I mean jesus Universal Studio’s Fast Pass kicks ass and gets you right in the rides.

The last gripe I have about Disney is the no beer concept, who’s to say you can’t go to Disney (just like every other theme park) and have a few beers while your there without losing your mind. If anything Disney not having beer, chucking in some massive lines and kids with no chance for Beer brings up the chances for someone to snap. Don’t get me wrong, I had a pretty good time at Disney with my Cousin , His Wife and my Niece, and I am a gluten for punishment and bought the 5 pack pass so it’s safe to say I ill be going back for some more pain and suffering at Disney. I am just happy we got the park hopper so instead of just No Fun Disney we can hit Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studio’s (formerly MGM Studios)

I couldn’t help but laugh regarding your comment on just the one carousel at Disney. We have annual passes so go pretty much all the time. Regardless of the fact that my girls have gone to Disney TONS of times over the past four years, it is invariably the carousel and Dumbo ride that they just HAVE to go on. And the lines! Good grief! They could at least add a Fast Pass to the rides.

@Julie without a doubt the longest lines of any theme park for the longest period of time, the consistency of the lines on those two rides is unreal. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
