This is actually a rant that I had planned on writing in regards to the Dunkin Donuts location located on U.S 19 in Palm Harbor Florida. I initially planned on writing this Dunkin Donuts rant when I first had the experience that prompted me to even want to write a rant.
Since some time has gone by from when I originally had my experience and now, I have actually returned to this specific Dunkin Donuts location an additional four times. I know your probably thinking I am a glutton for punishment, when in fact I really enjoy an afternoon pick up with a large double cream, double sugar ice coffee. I will usually stop and grab a couple of ice coffee’s and a couple of donuts for the kids after picking up my son from school.
In recent months I have had my issues with Dunkin Donuts, back on February 5th I wrote this Dunkin Donuts rant which was in regards to each of the Dunkin Donuts surrounding my general area in Clearwater. I recently read this post made by Mike the coffee crtiquing king of Daily Shot of Coffee, Mike also explains his frsutration wtih his recent Dunkin Donuts trips.
I never have a problem with the ice coffee drinks I get from this particular Dunkin Donuts, however when it comes to the Donuts that is an entirely different story. Back on February 5th I wrote this Dunkin Donuts rant which was in regards to each of the Dunkin Donuts surrounding my general area in Clearwater. My issue with Dunkin Donuts this time, is in regards to their donuts or better put their lack of donuts.
I typically hit the drive thru around 3:45 a couple of days a week, each time I have gone to the Dunkin Donuts on US 19 for each of the last 6 times I have had the same exact problem. I always order the same thing, two ice coffee’s, a Boston Cream donut and a strawberry frosted donut with sprinkles. Each of the last six times there I have heard the same response in regards to the Boston Cream donut, “Sorry we are all out of them.” I also receive the same response when it comes to the strawberry frosted with sprinkles, so I head down the line of donuts that we can get instead, maybe I will try a Jelly donut or a Bavarian cream donut or maybe a chocolate frosted…. Sorry same response, “Sorry we are all out of them.”
I am a pretty understanding guy the first couple of times something that is easily controllable is not being controlled, but six times in a row? The last time I went when the guy asked me what donut I would like I decided to ask them what they actually had after they told me that what I wanted was not available. He tried being funny and said, “Well what are you in the mood for?”…… Ummm think about it dumb ass, Im in the mood for the donuts I ordered when you first asked me, but as usual you don’t have them. When I continued up to the window to pay I continued my conversation with the drive thru guy in regards to my frustration, let’s just say he could care less. My patience with Dunkin Donuts is running out and there is a local Krispy Kreme I can hit on the way home instead, I am not sure if it has a drive thru or not but who gives a crap as long as they have some donuts in stock. Shame on you Dunkin No Donuts in Palm Harbor, get your crap together before you end up like the Dunkin Donuts a little further down on US 19 in Clearwater, gone.

John, I have the same problem here with the one that’s 4 blocks from me in Reisterstown,Md. It’s not the Doughnuts but the Baskin Robbins side of it.Expensive Ice Cream for poor service.Such as messy shakes & loose lids that you end up wearing while driving !!! Of course up here there all Pakistanies that run them and dont give a shit. But Dunkin has excellent coffee !

The one on US 19 is up there with the worse DD’s. All of them are bad customer service wise so I’m done.
I forgot about the Krispy Kreme. I think I need to go there soon to do a review.

@Mike I agree I have not had a memorable good customer service experience at any Dunkin Donuts in any recent time that I can remember. I wonder when someone will wake up and realize how much more money they could be making. I understand they make a wad of cash or ten, but without a doubt they can be making much much more.

the only thing i’ll get from DD’s anymore is their coffee, maybe their iced coffee; doughnuts just slow me down to a crawl

@Kisco Kid getting as annoyed as I do at the drive thru I am not sure it’s a good idea for me to go inside where I can show how passionate I am. So sorry for DD, no Ice cream sales from me until they get their shit together.

Have you considered the state of the economy, and how even upper class franchise owners may be at risk of losing everything? If store owners are worried about paying the power bill, how much room is there to stock donuts in excess? It doesn’t help that Dunkin’ Brands has their franchisees by the balls. I bet you verbally abused the lowly employee who has to accept the donut racks the way they are, and be heckled daily about how he’s out of your favorite treat. Is that really his job? Think about it.
