Family Night Out

by Extreme John on July 18, 2008 |

Following up to yesterday’s post I will keep on going with some updates from the family being in town and today I bring some pictures for you to enjoy as well. My brother Kenny was getting in to town later in the day today so we decided to hit a local place called Peggy O’niels in Palm Harbor for a few drinks before Kenny got into town.

Once Kenny got into town he joined us at Peggy O’niels along with Michele who got there a little earlier than he did. After BS’ing for a couple of hours we decided we were going to head out to grab some dinner, I initially wanted to go over to The Palms, but everyone wanted to do something a little closer. We usually like hitting this place called KOBE’s Japanese Steakhouse on US19 in Clearwater, I figured that would work sine Bill likes Sushi and Kenny likes Steak.

We had a private table and chef while we were at Kobe’s which was perfect for the group of pretty drunk people in our party. One thing I had bragged to everyone about was how great the Kobe beef is and how it melts in your mouth, I had everyone’s order upgraded to Kobe Beef. I was excited to see what everyone thought of their meal, as we waited I tried my first piece of Sushi and it was actually really good. The piece of Sushi I had wasn’t anything major it looked like shrimp on rice, I love shrimp and rice is ok too so I had no problem with it. The biggest let down of the night came when everyone got their Kobe beef I took one bite and realized it tasted like the worst steak meat I have ever had, they changed something and I knew it. I decided to ask everyone else what they thought and if the meat tasted like crap, everyone said it had a funny taste to it. Nothing pisses me off more than when you have guests in town and go to a place that always does you right and it turns around and sucks ass.

My first pathetic attempt at drunk Karaoke occurred after dinner when we headed over to The Palms (the bar) on US19 in Palm Harbor. I now understand exactly why they have Karaoke at this bar and here’s why, they have the best Jager Bombs on the planet in Frosty cold Beer mugs. I am a huge Jager fan and when you get me into this place I really do have no self control at all, we ordered round after round of Jager Bomb and beer and the beat down was clear, everyone equaled drunk.

Overall I haven’t laughed as hard as I laughed last night in a mighty long time, as for trying new things I deserve a medal, first the Sushi than the Karaoke thing, big steps big steps. Don’t plan on seeing me headline at your favorite sports bar for some Karaoke anytime soon, it might very well have been a once in a lifetime thing. I will leave that to the people that actually know how to sing or at least sing along well. You can see this entire album right here or by checking out my 2008 Pictures section.
