Hi John,

I, too, would like to add Google Custom Search to my blog. In your post above, you refer to another one of your posts, "How to Add Google Custom Search to Wordpress Blog", but it's not linked anywhere. Would you mind pointing me to that post? I think it would be very helpful, especially since I'm not a coding genius.

Thanks for your help -- and Happy Holidays!

Pam

John, forgive me if this is a stupid question but some of the newbies out there (including me) would like to know. When I first started blogging a webmaster I know built me a custom template for a blog managed by Wordpress and hosted with Dreamhost. This was a time before the free blogging platforms came out. Are most bloggers now using the free platforms like WP, Blogger, Tumblr, etc where all the good plug ins you talk about can be added by the blogger? Because any custom plug ins I want on my WP blogs other than the standard ones available with WP 2.8 have to be installed by my webmaster. What would be the correct terminology for a WP blog that is custom or the diff between WP.org and WP.com in being able to use custom plug ins?

@Extreme John, Heeeelp! :) I need to ask you a question. I installed the Google Customer Search on my blog and it works great. Only problem is the page that shows the search results shows up in my navigation bar at the top of my blog. How do I keep it from showing up? I realize you are XXXtremly busy so your time answering this question is greatly appreciated. Please :)
