On May 29, 2010 we held a Gulf Cleanup Balloon Event at all six of our indoor tanning salon locations to benefit the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary and aid them in their efforts to save and protect wildlife currently being effected by the ongoing Gulf oil disaster. We changed things up for this balloon event by asking for a $5 donation in order to throw a dart at a balloon and win a prize, typically balloon event’s at Extreme Tan and Smoothies are free.
In addition to collecting cash to go towards items that the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary needs we also accepted donations in trade for free tanning and free spray tanning services, donations needed to consist of items that the Seabird Sanctuary needs.
I wanted to share this picture with you, it’s a picture of all of the donations that were delivered to the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary. We have incredible customers and associates that made this balloon event a very special one, THANK YOU!! #4thegulf
Gulf Oil Spill Cleanup Event Donations
Special thanks to Shane from Shane’s Fit Club and Mark “The Balloon Guy” for donating prizes to the balloon event, and a very special thanks to Safari Save from Pet Safari for hooking up an incredible discount on all of those kennels!
P.s. I promised myself before I started this post that I was going to try extremely hard to hold back from sharing my true opinion on the entire gulf oil disaster, I could honestly write a daily rant about this subject and never have it off my chest. Needless to say I am just happy that my anger managed to stay inside for this post.

John, that is just really cool to see your business doing things for a great cause!!! I am on the east coast so we have not seen any effects from the gulf spill. How do some of the businesses seem to be holding up (mainly those that depend on the water for a living?) I hope your business will not see any slowdown from the spill!!! Thanks jose!

@JoseGregorio, thank you Jose I appreciate it and thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. So far I’m not ready to start screaming that the BP Gulf oil spill is effecting our business, the weather plays a much larger part in that for us. There are a few hotels around here that are seeing a decline in business, which is crap because it’s fine here where we are and we have amazing beaches in Clearwater.

I hope that all this generosity brings you even better business

WOW that sure is an impressive pile. I bet the SeaBird Santuary was glad to see all that Extreme Tan & Smoothies did for this donation drive.
Keep up the Great Ideas and promotions.
Go ahead and let it rip about the BP situation I would love to read another of your great RANTS.

@SafariDave, nah I will take a backseat and watch the rest of the world handle the BP situation. It shouldn’t be much longer.
I appreciate the kind words big Dave, and thank you for what you and Pet Safari did to help with all of those kennels!!

It is sooo XXXXCITING to see a local business involved with so many aspects of the community ESPECIALLY preparing for the oil spill! I hope your efforts are an inspiration to others to follow in your footsteps!
On a personal note, I would love to work for someone as organized and dedicated as you!
