Dear Mom,
There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of you or reflect back on something you would have said or done to make me smile. I miss you more then you know.
Happy Birthday Mom
You only have one set of parents, love them and appreciate them while you have them. Let this post serve as a reminder to stop what your doing and call your Mother or Father and let them know how you feel about them. It might sound ridiculous to some of you, but trust me when you can’t do that anymore it sucks.

You are absolutely right John, We lost my Mom two years ago this month. It’s still hard to believe she’s not a phone call away anymore.

@Brian D. Hawkins, so true Brian. It’s amazing how easy it is to take those phone calls for granted, then when they are gone you realize just how lucky you were.

I have a lot of friends that are not close with their parents and couldn’t understand how I could call my mom almost every day—sometimes 2-3 times a day when my life was really Soap Opera-esque.
My mom passed away 2 years ago on mother’s day and now I tell those friends—THAT’s why I used to call so much. Because you never know when the day will come when you won’t be able to pick up the phone and hear their voices and words of wisdom.
I thank God every day for all the time I had with her and for every single one of those phone calls.
great post John. even if it made me cry
