Holy Crap Big Shark Video

by Extreme John on July 24, 2009 |

Last week in addition to my normal Throwback series post I decided to throw in an extra video that featured my good friend Sang catching a Goliath Grouper off of the Florida coast in the Gulf of Mexico.

As I mentioned in my previous article, Sang showed me more of his fishing videos and I thought there were a few pretty crazy ones that I wanted to share with all of you. This weeks crazy fishing video features one of Sang’s cousins reeling in a shark while Sang swims in the warm Gulf waters, the fish that Sang’s cousin is reeling in is obviously a very large shark and the girl filming the video begins to mention how large the shark is as it gets closer to the boat.

This video takes about a minute to get going but once it does I know you will be amazed at what was on the end of the fishing line when this monster was reeled in, and once you see what type of fish it is you will be amazed at how close Sang is swimming to the monster. Oh yeah, listen and pay close attention as they cut the line and let the big fish off the line……… while Sang is still in the water.

Big Shark Video

I don’t know how you crazy kids feel about being in the water swimming while someone else is reeling in a big ass shark only feet away from where you are, than on top of it they cut the line while your still out there. If you think Sang and his cousins are a bunch of crazy people leave a comment and let us know what you think, better yet leave a comment and tell me what you would say or do to your cousins if they did that to you.

If you digg the weekly videos of Sang’s crazy fishing adventures be sure to subscribe to my rss feed it’s free and it will update you when I add a new fishing video or any new article for that matter. Show some super love and share this article on Facebook, Stumble it or Retweet it with the simple Twittley button at the top of the article.

Oh yeah one last thing, I don’t swim in Florida waters for a very good reason :)

That is so crazy… I guess that one wasn’t a big man-eater, as no one really seemed too concerned about Sang getting eaten? Great video!

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Alright , I’m gonna set the record straight about this video. First of all the title : “HOLYCRAP” Shark! Yes you guessed, when you gotta go you gotta go. It’s kinda hard to find a toilet when your 40 miles out there. Second of all, I think it would be better to cut the line than to have the shark bite me while I’m next to the boat becaus he’s already pissed offf! And last but not least that Jawss music was in the back of my head , because there have been shark attacks this summer in Florida!!

LOL… I think you should add the Jaws music to the background to your video to give it even more dramatic effect :)

Holy Crap! I didn’t know you could just catch sharks like that without crazier equipment. nuts..

That shark is common for 40 + miles offshore. It was nothing but a 6-7 foot reef shark and is basically harmless to people unless introduced to a feeding frenzy. Secondly, after a tiring fight like that, I do not think that shark did anything but dart back down abyss and relax like we do after a hard day of work. Therefore, cutting the line was alright in my eyes. On the contrary, if they had been chumming (disregard Sang’s chum  ), the likelyhood of multiple sharks roaming that area might have been a little more jaw jaggering for Sang! But yeah Sang, there ain’t nothin like jumping out of the boat in the crystal blue water 40 + miles offshore man. That a way my man!

So what did you all end up doing with that shark? Reminds me of that scene in Joe Versus the Volcano where Tom Hanks catches that really scary hammerhead!

It looks like I am not the only one that would be avoiding that situation, with the exception of Brendan but he’s got issues.

@Sire well I guess it wasn’t that “dangerous” of a shark, all though I consider them all dangerous.

Man, anything that can swallow my arm or head whole I reckon deserves some respect and if that means I have to stay out of the water, well that’s fine with me.
