How to Find Twitter Facebook Applications

by Extreme John on October 27, 2009 |

In a few days I will be posting 3 applications to sync your Twitter tweets with your Facebook page and thought that it might be a good idea to show everyone how to find Facebook Twitter applications, as a blogger it is important to assume that most people don’t know how to do some of these things.

This will hardly be the most exciting blog post that I have posted about Twitter or Facebook and I am more than positive that there are probably a few thousand tutorials just like this out there, I wanted to write one for my readers mainly because I have a lot of new bloggers that read Extreme John daily for blogging tips and what not.

How to Find Facebook Twitter Applications

This is actually very simple and we can get this done in just a few short steps.

  1. Login to your Facebook account
  2. Navigate to the “Applications” link in the lower left corner of Facebook
  3. Click on “Browse more applications”
  4. Enter “twitter” into the search field
  5. Hit enter

If you had trouble locating the Twitter applications for Facebook I included a few screen shots below that will get you pointed in the right direction.

It’s great that you kept this post so simple – it really is the case that there are people who probably haven’t used Facebook for anything other than the basic profile info and haven’t played around with it yet.

For the most part, I haven’t needed very simplistic tutorials, but there are times where I’ll be utterly mystified by something and only later realize that I was missing the most obvious thing.

Can’t wait to hear how you use these apps – I’m terrible with Facebook & Twitter.

@ashok, this was def one of those posts that came after the post if that makes any sense.

I basically have something coming up that requires knowledge of how to use Facebook applications, I wrote that post first than decided I would write this one just in case there was a reader that didn’t know how to get to Facebook Applications.

I tried to keep it simple so at least that much of it is useful, haha.

Speaking of Facebook: Are you using a plugin or the code to get the Share Facebook widget on the bottom of your posts?

Neat tutorial for the not so FaceBook Savvy (me). Just don’t know why I am not yet into FaceBook. Anyway, I will find that Twitter app on FB and see if I get more excited about it. BTW, is it my impression or this emoticons where not here before?

Very nice John, but be careful and watch your tweets from now on my friend not to re-tweet the same links too much! or you will annoy your sensitive Facebook friends!

@Hesham, I personally like Selective Twitter Status for that reason. You can choose which tweets go to Facebook by adding a #fb at the end of the tweet. The downside is that you are losing 4 characters of your tweet to the hashtag, but the upside is your Facebook friends don’t have to read all of your Follow Friday recommendations and other very Twitter specific memes.

Hi John, great tutorial, sometimes it’s very useful to cross post between the two, these days though, I tend to tweet more than post on facebook..
