How to Get an Extra Square Credit Card Reader

by Extreme John on April 16, 2012

If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time there’s a good chance that you’ve seen an article or two about Square mobile credit card reader. I recently replaced my old school merchant services and credit card machines with the Square card reader and Square app at each of my indoor tanning salon locations.

No more getting ripped off from the bank and the merchant services company. I’ve never been happier.

Sadly, accidents happen and as I found out the other day it doesn’t take much for disaster to strike with one of the Square readers. I received a phone call from one of my associates informing me that the card reader broke when the iPhone we use in-store was dropped. Since the Square card reader sticks out of the ear phone jack it’s easy for it to SNAP, which is exactly what it did when the phone was dropped the other day.

I needed a new Square card reader and I needed it fast. Here’s how I ordered a replacement Square card reader along with two backups.

How to Order an Additional Square Card Reader

Ordering an extra or replacement Square card reader is simple and takes all of about two minutes. Here’s the 4 steps that you will need to follow to receive an additional Square mobile credit card reader in the mail. If you prefer to purchase an additional reader you can look for a retail location near you with the Square store finder.

Login to your Square account.

Click “Account“.

Extra Square Card Reader

Click “Get a Card Reader“.

Extra Square CC Reader

Click “Ship Reader”.

I would suggest ordering an additional Square card reader as soon as you set up your Square account. Having an extra Square card reader around will come in handy in the event your original card reader accidentally breaks. It’s also a great way to be prepared for a “last minute” mobile processing expansion.
