After posting my most recent Blog Engage posts I received a few emails asking for tips and tricks to increase your votes on Blog Engage, after answering a few emails I decided I might as well make a post about it for any bloggers that want to know.
Before everyone gets their hopes up thinking I am some grand master of Blog Engage and increasing how many votes anyone can get on a blog post that they submitted to the Do Follow blog directory. I really should say blogging community because BE is so much more than just a directory, it’s a great learning and networking tool as well.
Anyway here’s one of the ways that I found helps to increase exposure and votes to your submitted articles.
Blog Engage Monthly Recap Screenshot
When I do my monthly Blog Engage recap I like to share my top 3 most voted on blog posts as well as 3 popular blog posts that I engaged on the site (voted up), than I close out my monthly recap with my 3 worst vote getting articles. The method to my madness is simple, share the best and worst hoping that it might increase votes on some of my worst vote getters while propelling my most popular posts even higher.
As you can see there really is no crazy method to this, it’s simple and it works. Try it.

Are you using one of your WP plug-ins to collect the posts? or is this a totally manual operation?

@Ms. Freeman, yeah when it comes to Blog Engage it’s a few quick clicks and your done. Hopefully in the near future we will see a version that passes the description, tags and title into the submit area that would be huge.
Good method. Yeah BE is pretty awesome, its cool to see Brian so involved in it too, which is something you would never get with some of the other sites.

@ZXT, I wouldn’t say I get a lot of votes at Blog Engage, there are plenty of others that get way more and consistently more. I do think doing a few different things here and there like this for instance, makes a difference ;)

Thanks for the advice. I’m in the process of writing a recap of my first month with Blog Engage. The funny thing is that the statistics are changing as we speak, so I have updated the draft about 20 times already. LOL
It’s a good thing to include some of the posts that didn’t do so well too. You always have great suggestions, thanks for sharing them.
