A few months ago we picked up a few iPad’s in order to have an app developed for Extreme Tan and Smoothies, a tanning salon chain I founded back in 2004. After getting comfortable with the iPad I quickly went on the hunt for the best iPad apps to use on a daily basis that would help me within my own small business. It didn’t take me long to become a fan of the iPad applications I have listed below, I’ve been meaning to share this list of those iPad apps I found most useful for a while now.
Let’s get to the iPad apps that I feel might be good for small business owners.
17 iPad Applications for Small Business Owners
1. ABC News
I know this one is a given, but hey just in case you didn’t know what iPad app to use for the latest news you can give this app a shot. ABC News app
2. Drudge Report
Nothing major here, this isn’t a fancy news app like the ABC iPad app, but it is a great source for the latest and greatest breaking news as The Drudge Report often posts the latest news before other news media outlets get their hands on it. Drudge Report iPad app
3. Facebook
I don’t know many small business owners that don’t utilize Facebook for social media purposes, I know there are plenty of them out there, I just don’t know many of them. Most likely because I constantly write about social media and how important it is in today’s small business world. Anyway, the Facebook app makes posting to your personal Facebook profile and Facebook pages simple, not to mention you can message and do just about everything else you can do when your typically on Facebook. 4. IM+Lite
There’s a good chance that most of my readers won’t have a use for an app like IM+Lite, I do and find it very useful for communicating with out of office associates when I’m on the run. I also use this app on my Motorolla Droid as well. IM+ allows you to chat and interact with others, for example I still use ICQ and so do a few people I do business with, IM + Lite allows me to connect with them quickly and easily. IM + supports more chat programs then just ICQ. IM + Lite iPad app
5. Feedler Pro
This is a less expensive alternative to NetNewsWire RSS feed reader. I like to keep a close tab on all of the blogs and business information sites that I follow, using a quality feed reader can be all of the difference between getting through the latest business news quickly, or taking all day to do it. 6. WordPress
The WordPress iPad app might only be useful to those small business owners that write and post updates to their own WordPress blog, because I do write my own blog content for Extreme John.com this iPad app comes in handy. Wordpess iPad app

DropBox is an awesome tool. I use it to sync up movies with family and friends. Everyone shares movies they find and nobody has to worry about going to shady, spam-filled websites.

never even thought of it for that purpose, but if it gets the job done then so be it right.
Thanks for sharing, I wasn’t aware of some of the application you mentioned above. Trip-it and Super Files are looking and I will surely give them a try.

I like SuperFiles, I might not use it daily but it’s a solid iPad app.
That Dragon Dictation looks promising. I often find it tedious to type in a lot of text, so it might help me to blog more.

Thank you Ryan.
I will go for Facebook, Twitter, Wordpress and IM. Once I was a huge fan of HootSuite and I use to use it everyday but they changed the plan so I hardly use it now.

Hi Kevin and thank you for commenting. I didn’t realize HootSuite changed their pricing plans because Im grandfathered in, that stinks. HootSuite really is an awesome app.
P.s. In the future take advantage of the “Keyword Luv” Plugin I use here when you leave comments. Instead of getting a No Follow on the commenting name of “Designers Digest”, try writing it this way in the form. Kevin @ Designers Digest. Doing so will link your keywords to your site with a Do Follow attribute (as soon as you reach 5 approved comments). A great tool to take advantage of on any blog
