A few weeks ago I was sitting out back on my Lanai, thinking of god knows what when I looked and Lisa and said, “Im gonna go inside and get my Lappie.” As soon as the word came out of my mouth (and it was intentional) I thought to myself, “That’s just….. Right.” I also knew it wouldn’t be long before the laughter or the gay comments followed. I mean who in their right mind would call a Laptop a Lappie? Doesn’t it sound a little on the odd side?
Now fast forward to current times, nothing in life has really changed, the world isn’t different, however I do feel something coming on. Much like the FOOMC I talked about 2 weeks ago I think I see the next craze, sure your thinking wow this guy has lost his effin mind, first the FOOMC thing and now this maniac looking type with his hair spiked off of his head (or what hair is left) and bunch holes drilled in his skull is calling a Laptop Computer a “Lappie”.
The fact of the matter is that people in this country are always starving for the next big thing, what comes after dragon flies? Skulls of course. What color comes after white? Pink, it’s all the fuckin craze. Paris started winging a small dog into her purse and 2 weeks later ever asshole had some little rat like dog jammed in their purse. Big hair was in, than it was gone for the pin straight hair, than perms or whatever else, it’s the constant changing world we live in.
I have now see “Lappie” posted on The Tan Forum, I have heard a few people I hang around with start calling it a “Lappie“, everyone talks about it, everyone makes fun of it and NO ONE can stop saying it. Lappie just fits, it fits into the high speed fast paced life, what sounds better?
“Shit, Im late and my god damn Laptop is upstairs.” or “Shit, Im late and my lappie is upstairs.”
Your sitting their laughing, that’s ok but I would like to welcome you to the good side, where you can’t stop saying “Lappie” when referring to your blahhhhhh Laptop. Lappie is just… right, it’s the next big thing and it’s here, your dieing to say it to someone, you want to see their reaction, shit it’s nothing anyone has heard. You now have “The next Big thing”, start the fire with your friends, neighbors, strange people you screw or whatever else. Lappie is here!
