Lets get SERIESous

I have decided to start a new series as I try to change Extreme John.com up a little bit and have some normal scheduled series posts that you can count on seeing each week, you know kinda organize this dump a little bit.

One of the main reasons for going with more of a “Series Blog” is that in addition to my typical rants, hot pictures, tanning videos, limousine information and whatever other crap I throw on here, I wanted to make it so that my rss subscribers and bookmarkers can have some normalcy. If you know that I will be writing about something that you previously liked on Extreme John.com you and it’s in a series you can count on me writing about more of it.

One of the new series I decided to start is of course my Wednesday picture day series, it’s known on the web as “Wordless Wednesday“, but since Im not big on calling it “Wordless Wednesday” and I hardly like following I figured I would be a rebel and call it nothing and just chuck a picture up on Wednesdays.

The next series I thought I would do would be a series called “Bonehead Buldog”, I have a collection of videos of Kennedy and Reagan our English Bulldogs I figured why not start putting up some of their bonehead antics. I also seem to grab a decent amount of search engine traffic for Bulldog requests, so who knows maybe there are some other bulldog owners out there that read my blog and want to see other bulldog movies and pictures. I would also like to have my readers submit pictures of their Bulldogs that I can include in the Bonehead Bulldogs post of the week, who knows maybe we will get to see some of the other crazy bulldogs of the world. Oh yeah, I own Bonehead Bulldogs.com so who knows maybe we can turn that into something.

The more I write about this “Series blogging” the more I think after a while that I might hate the commitment of needing to post something every week on the same topic, for me that can be tough in the long run because I lose interest quick and am constantly shifting gears onto other new things. It’s important at this point that I reallt make sure that anything else I plan on putting into a series is something that I can tolerate writing about somewhat consistantly. What good is a series if it’s never updated or it never gets past one article, my Sunday Smash is a good example of that exact situation, after writing my first Sunday Smash article I began to lose interest in doing that as a series. As much as I grew tired of the Sunday Smash series I still managed to make it to something like four articles, it was no easy task.

Lately I feel like sharing more business related information, I notice a tremendous spike in traffic here whenever I post a business related article, regardless if it’s business tips or a business related rant. This one might be a tough one long term for me because I’m not real big on letting my competitors know what we are doing, this will be a series I have tobe careful with when writing, either way I have decided to add a weekly “Business Tip” to the Extreme John blog. I can’t promise that it will be filled with useful information for anyone or not, I can’t even promise that with my personality type that the articles will be super professional when I do them, either way let’s see what happens with it. I also plan on expanding this into accepting Guest Posts, that way hopefully I can learn something in the process too.

At this point I now have four new Blog series, well kinda. I have been doing the “Throwback Series” for a long time now and that always seems to do well, it usually includes pictures of hot girls or great parties so I can understand why people like it. Including the “Throwback Series” I have the three Series I mentioned above, Picture Wednesday, Bonehead Bulldogs,  and Business Tip of the Week now I need to finish this series thing up and get the final two Series topics picked. Last week I did a “Picture Tweets” post which was a nice short post that included the pictures I tweeted with Uber Twitter over the course of the week, I have another one of those loaded for this week as well and plan on adding some of the pictures to it tonight. I enjoy Twitter and using Uber Twitter for my Blackberry makes everything with Twitter a breeze, so I figured why not make this my normal Thursday Series.

Tuesday -”Bonehead Bulldog” Day feat. a new video or picture of the English Bulldogs doing something odd, guest bulldogs welcome

Wednesday -”Picture Wednesday” feat. a picture of something, could be anything but it will be a picture

Thursday – “Picture Tweet Series” Day feat. a collection of the pictures I tweeted over the previous week

Friday – “Throwback Series” Day feat. hot pictures and videos from the past

I am getting pretty close to the end of this now, as of this post I have four Series topics picked out and many of them are loaded and ready to go, I plan on choosing at least one more series topic to write about each week and I have a few ideas I just need to think of the Series titles before listing it. Take a look at what I have listed below, leave a quick comment and let me know what you think of the idea of me adding it here and if you have any requests for a specific series you would like to suggest please let me know, I am open to ideas.

Now keep in mind you can always subscribe to my RSS feed to recieve the latest updates here on Extreme John.com, not all of the series have started yet and this should serve as a really early warning, however some of the Series articles are already set to go so please be patient as I get these off the ground.

On the lighter side of things, I took my little princess to the office with me today for a little father/daughter work day and it was a blast, she always strives to be such a big help for me. I can’t wait to do it again sometime soon, I think sometimes it’s easy to forget or take advantage of so many of the things we can do sometimes and we don’t. Today I “did” and it felt great.
