I needed to bring my Mercedes SL55 in for the yearly maintenance and a few other things that need to be looked at. Fergie ended up calling and booking an appointment for me at the Clearwater Florida Lokey Merdeces Service department. We bring the cars to Lokey because that’s where we purchased them from not to mention it’s conveniently located near where we live.
I usually have excellent service and everything is usually extremely fast when I need to bring any of the cars in. Today was a little different and to say the least it sucked. I had an appointment to drop my car off at 10:30am, I usually have an earlier appointment like 8:30 or whatever so I can get it done and over with. As soon as I walked into the waiting room I knew it wasn’t going to be good. I was on time and they had my car in no time, now I just had to wait for someone from Enterprise Rent a Car located in the Lokey Mercedes Dealership to come and get me and whisk me away to my loaner car.
One hour later someone from Enterprise comes and gets me to get me set up for my loaner car, an hour later! Needless to say this screwed my entire afternoon up because I had an appointment to take Kennedy to the Optometrist that I needed to get to. Than after waiting forever they take me out to the loaner car and it’s a fucking Ford Escape, not that I have a problem with Ford or with the Ford Escape, but this particular one smelled like 50 smokers puffed away for 5 years straight in it and it drove like a giant piece of crap in addition to that. I will never understand how you can drop off one of the highest end cars made by the specific car company and they can turn around and stuff you into a raging piece of shit, meanwhile when Lisa drops off the C230 she gets a Mercedes every time. It won’t ever make sense to me, but neither will having to wait an hour for a loaner car when you had an appointment

Sounds like this particular experience has been a really awful one for you. it does seem strange that they loan out some terrible cars to owners of nice cars and waiting an hour does seem excessive. perhaps they were overloaded for that day or it’s changed management or something. It’s always worth a mention to the company to see if it’s a one off and next time it might be better all around.
