There’s constantly news on the interwebs about the various social networking sites Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace to name a few, if your a web junkie you see this stuff all the time. Another thing that goes hand in hand with discussions about social networking and social media goes the discussion in regards to how these social networking sites can benefit business, others of course think that there is no benefit.
I recently read somewhere that 50% of business’s online don’t have a Facebook page, with Facebook being the big dog of the social networking world I can only imagine how few business that are online have a twitter account. Never mind how few actually use their Twitter accounts and Facebook Fan Page to communicate and network with customers and clients online, with that being said there’s no sense even discussing how few use these business tools for marketing.
Those of you that subscribe to my rss feed or connect with me on my Facebook Fan Page or on Twitter know that I stay pretty active on both social networks, you can see I have over 10,000 tweets on twitter if you check out my Twitter account @extremejohn. In addition to staying active with my Twitter username we also have something like 20 additional Twitter accounts for our business’s, @etasflorida is our most active then we have @insanelimos and @mmapunk as our other main Twitter accounts.
Proof That Twitter is Right for Business
It’s safe to say that if you clicked on any of the links above to our Twitter accounts or checked out my fan page you see we keep things cooking, it’s fun and it’s a great way to connect and interact with people locally regardless if they are your direct customers or not. A few posts ago I posted “My Week in Business Marketing“, if you check that post out you will see just how much I am willing to do on Twitter to keep things fun.
Now speaking of fun I wanted to show you another example of how Twitter is right for business, below is a tweet that I received from @thePromoterTV who was nice enough to tweet me the following message.
http://twitpic.com/12nqu7 Insane limo coming up behind me @extremejohn http://twitpic.com/12nruv
You can see the message posted on the Insane Limos Facebook Fan Page also. Anyway, I wanted to share the pictures that The Promoter from ThePromoter.TV was nice enough to share and tweet on twitter.
Pink Hummer Limo Pictures
The rear view mirror picture is bad ass.
Insane Limos Pink H2
I don’t think I really need to explain what the proof is here, it’s pretty clear.
Thanks again to The Promoter TV.

Facebook and Twitter reach a wide audience beyond imaginable.
That’s the superb feature it has and why business makers should consider using them wisely to engage with potential customers/readers. Even blogging, we can gain a lot of unexpected readers from there. It’s how social media contribute nowadays, ‘am loving it.
Pink limo like that.. it’s hard to miss on the road.
But I wouldn’t have known if you didn’t blog/tweet about it.

I don’t want to be a Buzz kill but if they killed my FB acct today I wouldn’t care. Shows you can have the best site in the world but if everyone is to busy worrying about their own Clients whatever else these people are doing to even answer a ? Then the value of that site to me is ZERO. I would really like twitter if their @ worked like Facebooks @ other then that if I was in business per se I would rule BOTH
Facebook is great if you NOT YOU you want to have some fake ass friends that think your going to buy into the CHUMP Network etc although many of those people have faded away. I’m waiting on a site better then Facebook smaller but when you say something people hear it
I may toned it down a ALOT and get some of these business GOOFS and manage their accts

Have an awesome day everyone
=-.
I was actually thinking about a post Titled and I don’t like the word “CLIENT”
called “MY Client vs Yours and what they really get” but life is to short to waste time dissing a bunch of GOOFS AGAIN
I guess we will see if my insane methodology works in the end
PS I was actually thinking of having a alter ego and make a media site called Butterfly Media or something Sweet like that to HOOK EM LOL
Anyway it’s a long road to the TOP and I’m just getting starter
Awesome Tactics there’s a Video in that post below Your in it that’s my tactics
PS I just woke up and FB is like the last site I check and when I went on there I’m like let me BOUNCE and let them play the “game ” on here as I BLINDSIDE em LOL

@Extreme John, Whoa! Love your FB page. How did you go about designing and promoting it? Do you promote it at your brick and mortar stores?
Yes, it’s undeniable that twitter is a powerful too for marketing..I myself have created first Malaysia twitter niche blog to help and provide Malaysia people using Twitter in right way.

I agree, its got a great community and you can seek out similar people and then build up relationships with them. It has a great, no-pressure environment to it. Twellow is a good business Twitter based directory over here in the UK.

It amazes me because you see all these companies rushing to block Facebook and Twitter at work, when they should be using them. Truly amazing. Some companies are truly missing the boat.

SO TRUE. It’s funny when I used to work for a marketing agency and they had Facebook and Twitter (and all the other sites) blocked. I told them “YOU FOOLS! We’re SUPPOSED to be using Facebook!” and explained to them why. I got promoted shortly after.

Best of all, Twitter is free. You can create an account and start utilizing the service as you wish. If Twitter becomes a time drain rather than a marketing device, you can stop using it with no penalty.
Twitter: extremejohn
@RROD, hey RRod thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
You hit on such a basic point that so many people miss, if you don’t enjoy it or find it to be a time drain… Erase your account and your done
@John: Good idea

I agree with you John.
Twitter and other social networking is a must for every business. They need every exposure they can get.

Since we are still fairly new to the online business, it took us also a while to explore the marketing tool Twitter. But now we are on and although we can’t say it has increased the number of sales yet, so it sure does increase the traffic to our site. And who knows how many people might bookmark and come back at a later time and might buy.
Facebook is another thing on our To Do list. We are still trying to decide how to use it the best way.
Twitter: extremejohn
@Rick@Home Decor Accents | Garden Accents, if your excited about the results your seeing with Twitter wait until you see the results of Facebook.
@Extreme John,
I hope to see more traffic and hopefully better traffic with a lower bounce rate than what I see from Google. If I only could find the time to get started.
Is anything true about the rumor of Facebook is going to charge a monthly fee? If so that will cause Facebook losing a lot of users.
