I agree that customer service has slipped to unacceptable levels. It is just amazing to me how such bad customer service is tolerated. Companies I actually look forward to dealing with are few: Amazon, Crutchfield, Trader Joe's (and some local restaurants). Other than that it is mainly about how much I want to avoid dealing with the company (so much I won't do it at all...).

I completely agree that customer service just sucks these days. I have had a number of issues lately with just the quality of work these days.

A simple one was my lawn guy switched us to another guy named Joe. This guy was supposed to be here every week on Thursday to cut the grass. Many times he did not show up till the next week as the grass grew sky high. Not to mention I was paying for it to be done every week in the summer. Finally after getting pissed and threatening a couple of times to go with another lawn service they are now out every Thursday. But it shouldn't have taken that for them to show up on time and just cut the grass.

I could site many other examples but I am going to call it a day. Enjoy all of your articles and posts. Later, Steve

Are you satisfied with Customer service levels these days?
just wanted to comment about this one: first I moved here in PA about 8 years ago-bought a house, needed some stuff done called up couple different contractors NO ONE CALLED or bothered to call me back, had to get people from NEW YORK to help me with the house... I started a shower door company in 2007, going back to basics ,customer service is my trademark, just because I was busy DOES NOT MEAN: DONT CALL BACK CUSTOMERS BECAUSE IM BUSY, NO MATTER THE TIME :I CALLED BACK...PERIOD. I recently was watching the news when i heard one of my competitors (owns 6 branches-been in business 30 years) SAY: WE HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE BASICS ,KEEP IN CONTACT WITH CUSTOMERS...IS THIS GUY A FREAKIN JOKE... IT IS ALL ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE- IF THE CUSTOMER IS NOT HAPPY OR U FAILED TO CALL BACK A CUSTOMER YOU WILL NOT GET ANOTHER JOB FROM THEM OR ANY OF THERE FRIENDS AND IT GOES ON.....SO IF OWNERS OF COMPANYS SAYS WE HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE BASICS, DONT USE THEM...EVER. CUSTOMERS ARE #1 PRIORTY.......KEEP THEM HAPPY AND THEY WILL USE U AGAIN AND AGAIN...
