Moron Mommy

by Extreme John on April 30, 2009 |

car-accident.jpg I posted an article yesterday that had caught my attention while going through the TBT, it was easily one of the dumbest stories I had read in a while. That was until this afternoon when I was flipping through the TBT and found an update to this story about a terrible car crash involving four teenagers here in Florida. It seems the stories of kids having terrible car accidents has been on the rise here lately in the Tampa Bay area, just a few weeks ago four teens died in this crash rushing home to meet a curfew.

To get everyone caught up to speed that doesn’t feel like clicking the link to the story, basically four teens were involved in a crash on a road with a speed limit of 25mph. The car accident was extremely violent which will indicate that speed played a factor in the most recent car wreck. The car snapped a mature palm tree in half and shot the car across two Pass-A-Grille yards and smacked it off of a huge tree limb where it flipped and landed upside down, oh yeah dont forget the concrete wall it went through.

Now unlike the previous car accident I spoke of a few weeks ago, all of the teens lived in this horrible accident, as amazing and lucky as it may be. In today’s update more details from this story became available, one detail is that the mother of the fifteen year old daughter was hagning out with the kids until 5am. Rachel Bolinder who now claims she is receiving a barrage of legal action threats from the parents of the other children involved in the crash.

Is Rachel Bolinder a Moron Mommy?

Rachel Bolinder also claims to have had “a few sips”of an alcholic beverage around midnight which was about 4 1/2 hours from the time she began to drive. Now for the crazy part, Rachel Bolinder decided to stop to use the restroom during their travel, Rachel claims that one of the kids in the car was “bugging” her to let him drive. Moments later Rachel left the running car to use the restroom and returned to a pair of tail lights speeding away into the night. Rachel than asked for help in finding her car, which she did when a few corners later she turned the corner onto the accident scene.

Without going crazy or into some deep rant…. Why the hell is this moron hanging out with fifteen year old and seventeen year old kids until 5am? Why did this Moron Mommy think it would be a good idea to leave the keys in the car if someone was “bugging” her so much to drive? Those questions alone can drive me into insanity. Moron. I can also go on about the parents of the other children injured in the crash as well, instead I will save that for some of you to comment on. Is Rachel Bolinder the Moron Mommy? Should she be punished for her actions or lack of? Leave a comment and let me know what you think, you can see comments from Rachel Bolinder in response to some of the angry people that commented on the story in the St. Pete Times.

John, my heart goes out to the family of the deceased. That looks like a terrible accident. Some people make the absolute dumbest decisions. It sounds like she wasn’t even fit to be a mother in the first place. Yes, she is a moron and I am pretty sure she’ll get sued.

Wow, It is unfortunant that teens think they are invinsable. This accident could happened to anyone. They obviously were hanging out with the wrong people. This mother should not be aloud to take care of other peoples teens, especially not her own. It is evident that she is to blame. There had to have been drugs and/or alcohol involved. It is a shame that the police did not do their job correctly. What a horrible situation. I hope the families of those children get the justice they deserve.

@BJ I couldn’t agree with you more, my son is 14 and wanted to sleep over a friends house last night I heard something in the transition that I didn’t like which made my decision simple… Sorry no sleep over. Of course you have to deal with the gripping and the bitching and complaining but it’s certainly better than this nightmare of a story.

@This is Nuts When I wrote my initial post I was going to comment on her previous DUI, I decided not to and hoped someone else would. Thank you. I am not saying she was drunk or on drugs but I will say there’s way too many things about this story that just do not add up. She wants sympathy which is fantastic but how about the other families that were impacted by her terrible decision making? If in fact she was in the car when the accident happened I would love to hear how this thing turns out. If it looks like a rat….. If it smells like a rat….. you know the rest.

Thank you both for taking the time to share your comments with everyone here, I appreciate it.

There is even more twists to this story! She cant remember the house where she used the bathroom at, She was charged with a DUI only 2 years ago… and there is rumors that she was in the car during the time of the accident. It does not piece together, if she is telling the truth. There had to have been drugs and/or alcohol involved…if these TEENAGERS were staying up until 5AM hangin with an OLD mom (she looks older than she is…drugs?!). If there is no justice in this case, I will lose all hope in the court system! This is just insane.

While this story is sad, what makes it even more sad is that it could have been avoided. I would be asking the same questions John has asked and more, that mother simply had no right or worthy excuse as to why they were out fleeing through the town until 5 am that’s just ridiculous. I think she should definitely be held accountable for any damages these kids have suffered because of her thoughtless actions.

@Christina Without a doubt the most frustrating and aggravating thing about the entire thing is that it could have been avoided, and in this case it wouldn’t have taken a miracle to be avoided…. Just a brain. :(

First of all, i am a mother not a friend to my children. I take this very seriously because my children are lead by my examples. This woman is every bit responsible for what had gone on with the partying, late night and leaving the keys in the vehicle….come on..why would anyone leave keys in a car and have it running while she went to the washroom…like i believe that story. She is lucky that non of these kids died from her stupidity. This is a wake up call to all parents out there…..Do you know where your kids are and who is being responsible for them??

@Mary-Ann Bennett Ahhh I remember that saying from when I was a kid, “It’s 10pm do you know where your children are?” Sadly in today’s day and age it seems there are soooooo many “parents” (put lightly) that have no clue where their kids are. It seems there is a new twist in this story everyday, regardless I hope that at the end of the day she at the very least realizes just what impact her crap decision made on so many people.
