O.k it might not actually be MY 51st Grammy Awards Show but it’s someone’s and I figured since it’s my 37th I might as well review it while im sitting here watching it. It will give me a chance to mention a bunch of celebrity names that I wouldn’t usually talk about on my blog unless they did something really stupid or something along those lines. Oh and of course I will write about a celebrity if they are for some reason being torched in the news kinda like Michael Phelps, who is now being crushed by his sponsors, the US Swim team (oh no!) and the Police in North Carolina are considering pressing charges…. Hell people MORE GOLD MEDALS for this country than anyone EVER… Anyway back to My Grammy Reviews.
I have a little catch up to do so I will review the first few minutes real quik here without too much detail. U2 to open the Grammy’s??? U2? Bono? Better yet was Whitney Houston on the same shit Paula Abdul is usually on during American Idol? Who let her talk and why? Now on to The Rock or Dwayne Johnson or whatever you want to call him, has his moment of rambling been shorter before announcing Justin Timberlake it would have been much easier to listen to him. I liked the Live Performance by Justin Timberlake and Al Green, it was good stuff and now Im moving into the Coldplay performance which in my opinion is one of those things I can do without. It’s not that I don’t like ColdPlay but I did just get done listening to Bono of U2 and the song the guy from Cold Play is singing reminds me of something U2 and Bono would sing. Got it? Ah Jay-Z just popped on stage, this is getting better. Ok thank god for Jay Z showing up in the middle of that song to give it something with a little pep which is what I needed after the first 10 minutes of boredom.
I am pretty excited about the Carrie Underwood performance and it’s mainly because I want to see if she’s wearing something super small and hot. I honestly am no fan of country music but she kinda takes it to a new level and I can usually tolerate her. Tonight is not one of those nights, let’s start off with the bad news that Carrie Underwood is not wearing anything hot. It can end there too. Holy shit… What happend to Leah Ann Rhimes? She jujst rolled out on stage with Sheryl Crow and looks like Sheryl’s mother, thanks I didn’t need that after just looking at Carrie Underwood.
Miley Cyrus Picture
Ok all of the Song of the Year options really blew, when it started out with “American Boy” by Estele feat. Kanye West I figured we were gonna be screwed. Decent song, and sadly better than all of the other songs in the Song of the Year category which Cold Play won. Now it’s time for the Kid Rock performance, see how this goes. Right back from the commercial break from the solid performance of “Amen” by Kid Rock and we head into Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus doing a song together sitting on chairs to start the set…. No starting a set sitting on chairs is not ok unless your doing MTV Unplugged from about 15 years ago. Another performance that makes my ears bleed, thank god for DVR….. which I will need to use desperatel in this situation as they move right into a Jennifer Hudson performance which is the typical stand on stage and belt out a song with a finger jammed in one ear, sorry can’t take it after watching Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift scream at each other on chairs with a guitar. Holy crap…. Please do not tell me it’s the Jonas Brothers, oh jesus with Stevie Wonder. Another perfect fast forward moment, which I suggest everyone do.
Ahhh Travis Barker (who is back with Shanna Moakler) is around and on stage with Blink 182 to present Rock band of the year, he has his arm in a sling from his plane crash a few months back with DJ AM. Blink 182 also announced they are back together again and will be making music. Coldplay wins again with Viva la Vida. Let’s get moving in with the bi-curious maniac from 2008 Katie Perry as she comes from the cieling to perform “I Kissed a Girl“, her outfit is something from a circus. Now the show finally seems to be picking up as we get moving into a performance by Kanye West and Eestele for American Boy….. you know that song that makes most guys sing the chick verse and feel weird about it, dont lie either fellas. Kanye’s hair is effin hysterical, I mean my shit is silly looking but he’s on some new level with this Rick James 1970′s shit. Either way the performance is solid and here I go to sing along… the girl parts.
Kanye West jumps right into the award for Best New Artist and so far pretty much everyone they have named are people I have no clue about….. Ok Adele wins Best New Artist which only leads me to believe her record sales will go through the roof tomorrow much like Nora Jones did back in the day. She’s a crying mess, next.
Back from the commercial break and right into some Country music, looks like it might be Kenny Chesney or something like that, and the only reason I can even guess that is I thought I heard them say that name when I was ripping through the DVR, figured it was no one I ever heard of and well the person on stage is def no one I have ever heard of. Next.
Time for Record of the Year and Im hoping I at least know one of the nominees that are in this category. Starts off with Adele, than Cold Play, Paper Planes by MIA…. Jesus I cant even type anymore. Time for me to puke. Winners are, you guessed it another album I never heard… Robert Plant and Alison Krauss can’t even tell you the name of the song.
I am pretty fired up, I believe it’s time for Jay Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and T.I performing Swagga Like Us. I wish the producers didn’t feel forced to have this effin performance in Black and White but by far the performance of the night.

Lil Wayne, Jay Z, Kayne West and T.I perfom Swagga Like Us
Time for another huge highlight… actress and hot as ever Kate Beckinsale is wearing a super hot long black dress and of course she looks beyond tasty. And she’s a brunette, imagine that. Thank you god for Kate Beckinsale.
Kate Beckinsale at the 51st Grammys
It’s nice seeing Paul McCartney doing his thing on stage, it’s been a while and the song choice is excellent too. I just heard Jack Black will be coming up which will mean another quick fast forward moment, nevermind he’s giving out an award which means I have to listen to his shitty jokes until he actually gets to the point why he’s on stage. He is giving out the Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal, which means I can now fast forward because John Mayer just won it.
L.L Cool J is announcing Sugarland and Adele doing a double performance and based on the belting from the Sugarland chick it seems like it’s just about time for me to fast forward. Now before you going judging me here, I gave it some time and Sugarland even has a song I think I almost liked once when they performed it live… This is NOT the song or one of thosr times. FF>>
They just announced Gwyneth Paltrow who walked out looking ok, nothing special, some short dress with some ugly ass grey leggings underneath it and she was introducing the live performance for 15 Steps by Radiohead… Gweneth should have been out getting her hair done instead of being at the Grammy Awards, it looks like it needs some serious lovin. As for the Radiohead performance, im moving on.
T.I and Justin Timberlake are hitting the stage for their live performance which starts out slow with Justin doing vocals while on the piano, same boring she he did in concert. T.I and Justin are doing a solid job with the coloboration they have going on right now, solid beat too.
You had to have much respect for Neil Diamond singing Sweet Caroline, it sounded just like when he did it 80 years ago. Another quality perfromance from an old timer like Neil Diamond, The Temptations and of course Paul McCartney. As the show begins to head towards it’s ending Im still sitting here and wondering if Lil Wayne was up for 8 Grammy Awards when the hell do they plan on giving them out or even calling those categories he just might appear in. Either way as of right now im getting ready to update My Grammy Awards post and do some more fast forwarding through the grammy awards.
Time for Lil Wayne to perform again, he’s with Robin Thick (who I actually like) and they are performing a song I have not heard yet. I wish I could find the Lil Wayne and Robin Thick video performance at the Grammy Awards but no one has it posted yet and of course im not prepared to tape it and just post it. Another lost moment. Solid performance for a song about the planet and a few other things, now there’s a bunch of people with Tubas on the stage, almost FF time again.
Best Rap Album Grammy Award which pits Jay Z, Lil Wayne, NAS, T.I, and Lupe Fiasco and the winner for the Best Rap Album is no surprise… Lil Wayne went on to thank God, the people on stage with him and all of YOU… Which Im sure includes me also.
Looks like they will get ready to end the show with Robert Plant and Alison Krauss who won Grammy Awards earlier in the night, im liking the beat of the song but im not sure I can hang out much longer without hitting the fast forward button. Only part is I think if I fast forward at this point I will be at the point where the show is live and im forced to continue watching and might be exposed to something I dont want to be exposed to. Holy crap Green Day is on, didn’t realize they were still alive.
Album of the year Nominee’s are Coldplay, Lil Wayne, NEO, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, and the Rainbows…. The Album of the Year winner goes to Robert Plant and Alison Krauss which kind of blows me away, it either shows me I dont listen to enough variety of music or the shit thats popular is being played in some other place where Im not.
In closing I would have liked to have seen a little more excitement in the performances and a lot less love and piano shit mixed with some guitars, I would have also liked to have seen a lot more hot celebrities which were def in the lacking tonight… It’s the effin Grammy Awards have a few hot chicks there at least! A few performances I really liked and of course plenty of performances I could have done without, better than previous Grammy Awards shows ive watched though.
