Some of you that visit this place on a daily basis looking for blogging tips, business tips or whatever else people can find here might have noticed a button next to each of my post titles. The button is displayed thanks to the Blog Engage WordPress plugin I currently use here on my blog as a way of getting additional traffic and networking with other blog people (it’s a breed).
Here’s what the Blog Engage vote button looks like:
I have been using the plugin here for a while now and I have really seen some excellent traffic from the Blog Engage community, I have also met some pretty cool people from there too. As I see a return in traffic and results from being involved in various communities online I will typically start featuring the plugin or directory here on a monthly basis, I do it to increase reader awareness as well as increase reader participation.
Below you will find a collection of posts from Extreme John that were listed on Blog Engage over the past couple of weeks, once December comes this will become a monthly routine. In addition to a list of my posts that did the best over the last few weeks I have also included a few of my favorite articles that I voted on over the last few weeks.

I use Blog Engage as well but have not yet seen the amount of success you have. Maybe I should actually add the vote button to my blog to make it easier to get voted up. I have seen some good traffic from BE and will continue to use it as part of my blog promotion strategy.

@Tycoon Blogger@Promote your blog, I would recommend adding the button. I have a list of tips coming out here ina few days, not that you need them but who knows maybe you will find something useful in there to increase your Blog Engage traffic.
@Tycoon Blogger@Promote your blog, jezz tycoon you have been saying that for months now but if you really want exposure you have to engage with bloggers. I’ll tell you why Extreme John is successful. He engages with our members and I mean a lot.You can visit the majority of submitted articles and you will see john has posted a comment and voted. People notice this and as he continues these actions respect is being earned. I watched John create so many relationships using our community it makes me wonder why no one else has caught on to his master plan. It’s a great system if you have the time and willingness to read so many articles.

I will say that if the button was self contained and loaded within like Twittley, no one would stop Blog Engage.

Thirdly, let your readers and friends know that u use blogengage, this will get you more votes

@gautam hans, there’s no question that voting on others posts makes a big difference.
What a great post John. I would like to take a minute and discuss the article that didn’t do so well. I don’t think it has anything to do with you. I really think it’s about timing. You may have submitted that article with other “in a row” and when users do that they tend to get little or no votes I don’t know why this happens but it’s clearly a trend I have noticed. I know it’s time consuming but if you try to submit on a daily basis you would get better results.
With that said I understand this is impossible because people have lives and other commitments. No one has time to visit and submit daily and I think that’s why we get so many members that submit 3 or 4 articles every 3 or 4 days. There’s nothing wrong with this but I have noticed they rarely get a vote on each articles.
Food for thought perhaps.

@bbrian017, Thanks again for the innovative service you provide!!…I thought maybe I’d make a suggestion: a lot of us are extremely lazy or just limited in time so is there any blog engage plugin that does not require you to leave the website; where you can just vote up an article on the post if you are already logged in to BE?
Kinda like when we retweet something, its quick and easy and you don’t leave the blog.
@Alan @ Glass Pipes, that would be cool but I’m sorry to say it hasn’t been developed yet. This is something I should be looking into ASAP. I guess right now the best bet would be to open the links in new tabs

I use BE and I have to admit that it is a very cool community and have been sending pretty good traffic lately. Unfortunately, I have not been active enough, but I will soon remedy that.

I do get traffic from BE but not as much as you, maybe I should add the BE button it will help the readers. I haven’t submitted my articles recently because I don’t have enough time these days, waiting for these busy days to get over so I can be back on track.

Congrats on your success John! Just out of curiosity what are your traffic numbers coming from BlogEngage looking like? For example, when an article hits the front page, do you get a huge rush of visitors coming to your site?

@Matt Savage@PlentyofFish, I wouldn’t say that I get a “huge rush” of visitors from Blog Engage at any time. Twitter does that for me where as Blog Engage provides consistent very targeted traffic that results in clicks and page views.
I’m in the process of optimizing my method for social media integration and connecting with other bloggers so that I can be at the top of my game by the beginning of next year. I think I’ll try Blog Engage over the course of the next few weeks to see if I should include it in my strategy. Thanks Extreme John. You’re one of the bloggers whose opinion I value very much.

If I seen on blog engage. It seems the concept is similar like social network but the different is that in this blog engage we submit our own article, in other social network we are not allow to submit our own article. Than we will get vote from there.
