My CommentLuv Project Part 3

by Extreme John on June 30, 2009 |

Ah here I am finally at the very end of my first “blog project” and this one was a biggie, as if normal informative blog posts for newbie bloggers aren’t time consuming enough. When I started “My CommentLuv Project” I planned on it taking only five days to complete, while trying to locate active CommentLuv blogs, than comment on those CommentLuv blogs and post the information across three articles that display each of the CommentLuv Blogs that I have visited.

Now that I look back at the first two articles I wrote I think I have decided to write a fourth article crtiquing some of the results or the responses from the CommentLuv sites that I visited in my initial “My CommentLuv Project” article and my second “My CommentLuv Project Part 2“. I will probably wait a week to see if any of the blogs that don’t update as frequently show any response or comment back, my blog is a DoFollow blog so anyone leaving comments here gets excellent link love from doing so.

As I dug further into the new ComLuv site as well as CommentLuv and spent a solid amount of time trying to locate additional blogs that used CommentLuv to include in my project, I just couldn’t locate enough to complete this project. Don’t get me wrong there are plenty of excellent CommentLuv websites out there to choose from, it just became hard for me to locate sites that interested me enough to comment.

This is a pretty interesting situation as you know, because when I initially started this article I mentioned the need for a fourth follow up post that would come behind this article. Feeling as though I have spent enough time trying to locate CommentLuv sites that fit my niche (whatever the hell that might be), I guess it’s safe to say this project is complete.

My CommentLuv project is not a complete fail by any means, I found some excellent sites that I now visit on a daily basis and comment on. In addition to finding some new interesting and informative blogs to read I also picked up a few new commenters here on Extreme John.com from the blogs I visited and left a comment on. When I started this project I looked to achiveve a few specific things, I feel that I was able to accomplish those things without actually having a full twenty five commentluv sites to include in the project.

CommentLuv Tips

  1. If you have your own blog leave comments on blogs that offer the WordPress plugin, you still get CommentLuv regardless if you personally have the plugin on your own blog.
  2. When responding to comments left by your readers on your blog, do it from your blog instead of from within the admin interface. Doing so will allow you to select one of your recent articles to display in your response.

The Wrap Up
In closing using the CommentLuv plugin increased the exposure of my latest articles, in addition it clearly increased overall traffic to my site and most importantly like I said above, I have networked with some great people along the way.

I hope that everyone that visited my site during My CommentLuv Project enjoyed the information that was posted, keep an eye out for my CommentLuv Porject recap which should be up in a about a week. If you have a CommentLuv blog I urge you to leave a comment, as I mentioned earlier my blog is a DoFollow blog, has the CommentLuv feature and more importantly I will visit your blog to check it out and leave a comment when I do. John, after reading this post I reckon that you show all the attributes needed to be part of the F Group, something that I do for those astute bloggers who decide to follow a movement I’ve started. So far the take up has been slow, but then all it needs is a group of smart bloggers such as yourself to get behind it.

Any, what I really wanted to do was thank you for the link luv. Sure as heck didn’t know I was part of a special project of yours. I hope I made the grade mate.

Not just the commentluv John, it’s also about the reciprocation of comments to build a community. Something the ProBloggers don’t seem to worry about. Heck, they don’t even reply to most of the comments left on their blogs.

Hi John
Finally got to part 3.

Just noticed your tip
“When responding to comments left by your readers on your blog, do it from your blog instead of from within the admin interface. Doing so will allow you to select one of your recent articles to display in your response.”

Now why didn’t I think of that.

Will do it from now on.
