Nickelodeon Hotel Review

by Extreme John on June 18, 2008 |

If you read my last blog post you will have a good idea that we decided to go to Orlando for a few days on a last minute “Do more fun shit with the kids” trip, kinda odd that for Fathers Day the kids got surprised with a trip hahaha. It worked out great though because my Daughters Birthday was Tuesday (like I mentioned in my last post) so staying at the Nickelodeon Hotel should provide some good Birthday excitement and fun for all three of the kids.

We reserved a seat for Breakfast during the Character Breakfast which had the kids all fired up, they were very excited to see Sponge Bob and their excitement didn’t end with a let down, Sponge Bob showed up along with about 8 other Characters from Various Nick shows, I know Sponge Bob and Dora the Explorer but outside of that I am lost. We had a great seat which had us next to Sponge Bob for most of the breakfast, my daughter was dancing with him it was classic.

Here’s a picture of me along with some Character that Nickelodeon OBVIOUSLY stole the hair design idea from.

After breakfast it was time for the pool, than some lunch at one of the 7 Resteraunts (as they advertise it) in reality there is like 3 different places to eat here, maybe 4 at best. The service at the Pizza Hut and A&W Combo was beyond pathetic and I didn’t have much better service at the Barnie’s Coffee earlier that morning. When I initially think of the service here overall, I want to say it was good but for some reason I think I would be taking the satisfaction from all of the different things for the kids and the adults to do here and giving way more credited than deserved to the actual service here. I mean let’s face it, it took asking 4 different employee’s to actually get the Birthday Pin for Alexa to wear, they do some cool things for the Birthday kids twhen they have the pin on. Also ordered two six packs from room service and had two beers delivered instead, they fixed that pretty quick. The service at the Lagoon Bar was excellent as well, but regardless between the water slides, events for kids, 4-D Movie experience, Video games in the room, excellent security you cant go wrong staying here. There really is no need to leave the Nick Toon complex during the time you are here, if we stayed another day or so I would be looking to get off the property and eat something else, but other than that there is plenty to do here and the value is excellent.

Here is a picture of just a couple of the Water Slides they have at Nickelodeon in Orlando Florida, they have slides for all ages and they even do the Slime dump at 4:45 every day at the pool and they have other options for you to get slimed or see others get slimed while filming a show.

We grabbed a quick dinner before hitting the 8pm Show we reserved the day before, during Dinner someone on the staff must have noticed my Daughters button and brought over a cup cake with a candle in it and sang their crazy Nickelodeon Happy Birthday tune to her. We wrapped up the night by celebrating in the Hotel Suite with a Carvel Ice Cream Cake, it made Alexa’s day because she had been asking about a cake all day long and you could see she was really starting to get upset with the fact that she thought she might not have a Birthday cake on her Birthday. When we busted out the Birthday Cake she was beyond happy and it was the perfect smile to end a great day, the kids went and did some stuff for a little bit and as I write this Blog post everyone is snoozing away which tells me everyone had a great day. I asked my Daughter her favorite part of the day, she responded with, “Everything, I loved the whole day it’s my best Birthday.” which means the overall mission was accomplished.

Why do all the cartoon characters scream so much these days? I mean Hong Kong Phooey was a wayward kinda guy but he rarlely spoke in a high pitched hideous voice.

Anyway … the hotel looks good for the kids.
