That's one of the best qualities about Progress Energy, every employee seems to be trained to believe that the customer is the enemy. It's an amazing business philosophy.

Progress energy fucking sucks. They charged me for unauthorized usage claiming that my service was dc due to a late payment. My service was never interrupted and I paid my bill. They claimed that someone tampered with the meter an that's why they had to come out and dc my service again and put a lock on the box. Their customer service reps are downright rude and not helpful at all. They treated me like some kind of thief stealing their service when I had no clue. My service was dc and I had to pay a whopping $600 to reconnect my service. I have 3 young children in my house so I had no choice but to pay.

Progress Energy do not have rival that's why they keep on increasing their rate. With the bill like yours, it is indeed a hell. Your income will just go mainly to electric bill and that's not fair. The government should also protect the consumers and pass a law that will hinder private companies to increase rates all the time.

Your absolutely right about the Commission, and how they are complete robots serving only the interests of Progress.

Our home is 1500sqft. We have all CFL's throughout, Air on 84-85 days, 82-84 nights. Our bill last year was always under $100 except in the summer. Our bill is currently over $150 at the least, even after changing our energy habits.. Shouldn't those of us making an effort to reduce our consumption of energy be rewarded with some kind of grandfathered rate?

Everytime we upgrade a device or reduce our electricity use even further, the little bit we save just goes right back to PE the following year.

I just read in the news that 58,000 families have already left FL from 2008-2009. While that may not seem like that many, it is the largest population decrease in 67 years. The rates will only continue to increase to make up for those loses.

Our next home will be off the grid!

Doug I never expected in a million years to wake up today and see that JS-Kit still has not moved over my comment database, that's strike one.

Now I plan on doing a full review of Echo which means I have to hang in there a minute, if I do decide to keep it I will write a detailed "How to use JS-Kit Echo", but I honestly would rather have everyone's natural and unbiased opinion about it once I do have it completely in place.

No Sire there are zero competing companies, if there were than Progress Energy wouldn't have over a million people that hate them in Bing search engine results, and I am sure there are way more.

As for the new comment system sucking, I would have to agree in it's current state I hate it however I will give it time I need to tweak a few things and I need to give it a detailed test run if I am going to review it and share my experience with Echo.
