Ragu Fresh and Simple Review

by Extreme John on July 29, 2009 |

As if you ever thought you would jump on my blog and see a review about the new Ragu Fresh & Simple All Natural pasta sauce, your use to seeing me review local business’s in Florida, or rant about a product or specific company.

I have reviewed products like the very tasty BK Joe ice coffee though, which means this is hardly my first time reviewing a product from a major brand. I decided to review the new product from Rago that boasts “3 Easy Steps” for all natural sauce because I noticed it on the counter while Lisa was making dinner and thought it looked like a pretty interesting product, as usual I was scepticle of the “change”, I hate when products around the house change it bothers me.

Ragu Fresh & Simple All Natural Smooth Pasta Sauce (front)

I will be completley honest when I say that the minute I saw the sauce go into the microwave with a little hole cut in the top of the packaging I wanted to scream, that was until Lisa pulled the all natural sauce out of the microwave and poured it on her Ravioli’s, it looked very good.

At this point it wouldn’t be odd of me to just put butter on my Ravioli and move on, that is another common move that I make when I see something come out of a microwave oven, I usually don’t even want to be involved with trying it.

Anyway once I made the commitment to try the sauce I began to pour it from the little hole that was cut in the top of the package, surprisingly enough it did not make some crazy mess when I poured it, the package was clean. The extra step of having to clean off the packaging with a piece of paper towel would have instantly made me hate the product and demand that it never return to the house again, this was a nice surprise.

Ragu Fresh & Simple All Natural Pasta Sauce (back)

I will have to give the new Ragu Fresh & Simple the go ahead, the sauce has an excellent taste to it and the product delivers exactly what the packaging claims it will deliver. I was extremely happy with the taste of the sauce, how evenly the sauce poured on to my dinner and you know that being as busy as I am I love how there is zero clean up.

We have a family of four and there was easily enough Ragu Fresh and Simple pasta sauce for everyone,  I would recommend giving this hot new Ragu Fresh & Simple pasta sauce a try, you can find Ragu pasta sauces at your local grocery store. I also located a three pack of the Fresh & Simple pasta sauce on Amazon for $12.99, this is for three 2lb packages and would be under $3 at the grocery store for a single package.

Please keep in mind I do not pass any referral links or get paid for reviewing any products here, I call them how I see them and the Ragu Fresh & Natural pasta sauce is a very rare 5/5. If you like reviews like this feel free to follow me on Twitter or subscribe to my RSS feed, it’s free.

@Karen thank you for commenting, I know it’s somewhat strange to see a review about that on here from me, but honestly I was pleasently surprised with this Ragu product.

Not sure this product is available in my country, but this made me so hungry. That green color look somehow flashy… but that isn’t really a problem if what is inside the package has a nice taste.

There is no blood of the pasta in that junk! Homemade is by far the best!

@OldFriend of course home made is always better, but the reality is that not everyone has time for “homemade” :)

I too am microwave skeptical, used to just heat up leftovers with it but since discovering those microwave in a bag veggies I am a convert. I plan to try this one just for convenience sake. I love spaghetti with my own sauce but it usually takes me all day to make.

Ah-hah, normally I find great party pics here but a pasta sauce. I might have to give it a try…but don’t stop writing the good party material :)

Hey Wildman:
First let me say thanks for allowing me to take advantage of the Keword Luv Plug-in, and making this page available.
I spent over 2 1/2 yrs. in Italy when I was in the service, and I really developed a taste for homemade pasta dishes, So I have to tell ya I think it’s pretty hard for something that comes already prepared, or out of a bag is going to have a pretty tough time beating out something that is home made.
However I will give the Fresh and Simple pouches a try Thanks again John, I wish you the best

@Rob @ ravioli Maker and pess, hey Rob thanks for stopping by and taking the time to leave a comment, more importantly THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

No doubt it’s hardly like “home”, but it works in a crunch. The funny part is the last tiem I had the Ragu Fresh and Simple was when I wrote the review. Haha.
