As some of you know by now (and some of you dont). Here is why I have been MIA, I will be on trying to get caught up from now until Christmas.
We sadly had to let Tigger go on to a better place.
He was doing well the first few days of last week, however later in the week his condition changed for the worse. We continued to support “Handsome” as the week went on, either late Friday night or early Saturday morning Tigger had what I believe to be a second stroke. This one took the Champ out of his fight a little bit, he hasnt been able to just sit down since November 17th, he would walk around the house until he pretty much passed out. On Saturday that changed, he walked around the house from Saturday morning right through late Sunday.
I knew he couldnt continue this battle much longer, and I always said there was only 3 reasons I would ever make the decision I made today, it was very clear to me that “Choochanella” was in a serious amount of pain and discomfort and his meds werent working anymore. On top of that he was putting himself in more and more danger with each step he took.
We made the decision on Sunday that we would talk with the kids and explain anything to them that they didnt understand. With a plan of taking him in on Wednesday, making Tuesday a fun day for my “Desh da de Shegunteta hunta frunta”, however last night I spent the night on the couch trying to keep him calm and comfortable and I honestly didnt think he would make it into today.
With today, came another injury for “Handsome” as he could no longer get up and the wood floors didnt help him, so the time was set for 4pm. However by 2:15pm I knew he was really suffering with his new leg injury and being so exhausted, dehydrated, etc. I made the decision to move his appointment to 3pm which gave everyone a little more time to say Good Bye to our old friend who fought just like we thought he would.
With that said.. Rest in Peace Handsome Daddy Loves you!
