Hey, pretty reasonable article. Thanks for writing it. I am a huge fan of Fedor; visit my website, I write about Fedor in great detail (it's all theory.)

This fight, however, disappointed me. Fedor phoned this one in. He looked sloppy and very human in the cage. The punishment he took on the ground from Rogers were strikes he's never received before, by virtue of not having fought in a cage before. It doesn't matter how many people you've beaten, you simply can't take that kind of punishment and last very long.

Fedor claims that, despite taking significant damage from Rogers' punches, he was never hurt and felt the fight was fairly even; in hindsight, he was probably a lot more calm and in control than people give him credit for. However, that calm may not functionally be much different than complacence. There's no room for complacence in the UFC, where heavyweights move like lightweights and can fight for five rounds. In the UFC - where the top talent is consolidated - Fedor would face heavyweights as large as Rogers and as strong but more well-rounded and well-conditioned.

Brock Lesnar, for all the criticism he's received for not being well-rounded, knows his simple game to perfection. The larger, stronger and faster Lesnar can easily take Fedor to the ground where he'll control him, hold him against the cage, and feed him punches until the referee stops the fight. It could be over very quickly, and if Fedor's phoned-in performance against Rogers and Arlovski were any indication, it will be.

For my sake as a fan, I hope I'm wrong about that.

For what it's worth, Dan Gable - the legendary coach of the legendary Iowa Hawkeye wrestlers - spoke of a "reckless abandon" which he demanded of his athletes. That fearless, to-hell-with-risk work ethic in competition may be the most important component of the Hawkeyes' wrestling success, and perhaps Fedor's success as well.

@Extreme John, It's not Fedor's fault your not the favorite child in your family. That's why you always want so much attention by lashing out on people who are famous and successful. Talk to your mom and pop. They know..

Sure you dont haha....the problem with your defense is, that it would be very hard to find someone who is equally as retarded as you are (EJ)....by the way English is not my first language as well....

This is from your...ehm sorry EJ's trolling blog on top of this page:
Here’s where things get sticky and it’s mostly my own fault because I love to talk shit about Fedor and how I feel about his hand delivered belts and constant dodging of top 10 mma fighters, the bottom line is that the best fighters in MMA are in the UFC.
Yes it is your own fault..."talking shit" is a very good indication of your maturity....so when your other split personality (lets just call it Marsupial) hopes to insult me by using terms like "12 year old shit talk", maybe you should go back to your own blog and first make sure you don't freely admit to being a shittalker...haha

Second....
Once again....Lets examine again Brock Lesnars accomplishements...(i hate pointing out the obvious, but i dont think you posess the mental capacity to piece this together yourself)
Beock is tied 1-1 with a guy who wasn't even supposed to be walking again after his motorcycle accident( Frank Mir)....
He has managed to pin down Heath Herring....a guy, who used to be somewhat good, but now he is a gatekeeper material at best.
He did beat an "over the hill""and much smaller 47 year old fighter (Randy)
Fedor has nothing to prove to this 4-1 fighter, who was very much "parachuted" into the position of a HW champion by the UFC management, since his fake wrestling credentials would no doubt increase the ratings by attracting the trailer thrash crowd....

Also i don't think we will see Brock fighting anymore, due to his health problems, induced by exessive steroid use..

I do agree with you on one point....GSP is the man...he is one of the most talented fighters in the UFC right now.

dude i dont know extreme john or anyone else here, and rarely post anywhere. But he has a pretty good opinion that makes some sense (even though is disagree on some stuff) compared to your 12 years old shit talk, it's quite obvious he isnt me if you take time reading our posts, english isnt my first language anyways.

you :high: a bit too much man, go buy yourself a women and become a joyful trucker.

anyways i hope to see Fedor vs the giant Lesnar in a near future. even though Fedor would probably hit the mat.

GSP is the man anyways!!
